We are located in Lizella, Ga just a few miles west of Macon, Ga. We are a full time cattle and horse farm. Riding lessons are for 4 years old and up. Once getting along pretty good the student can help get up cattle, work cattle. We have lots of ropings here and around the southeast. Just Us Horsin' Around uses Equine Theraplay which is a form of play whereas horses are used to assist in social development. Our horsemanship instruction includes proper riding techniques, understanding horse behavior, horse safety, horse care, tacking up the horse, feeding, stall maintenance, and much more.

We offer private lessons for $40.00 per person/per hour.
Four lessons package: $140.00 per person (when purchased and scheduled within 30 days.
Ten lessons package: $300.00 per person (when purchased and scheduled within 45 days.

We are geared towards the beginner to intermediate level western rider, and our students learn at their own pace. This ensures that they gain confidence right from the start. Our horse playground is an obstacle course which allows riders who enroll in our riding program to practice techniques required to go out on the trail. Jacel Galloway is a United States Pony Club C-3 Graduate, and level 4 CHA Certified instructor who has ridden and competed through the CCI1* and Preliminary level,with extensive training at the intermediate level for 3 Day Eventing. She has qualified and competed in numerous United States Eventing Association national Championships Beginner Novice through Preliminary. She has competed through 4 Ft. jumpers and competed in United State Pony Club Championships for Show Jumping 3 times.

Her program offers Beginner-Advanced level of training specializing in english riding, dressage, eventing, and hunter/jumpers. Her strong foundation in the horse world allows her to teach her students competent horsemanship as well as skilled technical riding ability. Along with lessons, is the opportunity to show and compete in various shows, circuits, trail rides, clinics, camps and more. Her students have won numerous year end awards in eventing, dressage and hunter jumpers. She works with each student personally to find out what their goals are and work through and design a program of lessons to attain those goals and continue moving forward in the equine industry.

Meadow Wood Farm's lesson program welcomes all levels and ages of riders from the beginner to the advanced, whether you have your own pony/horse or ride one of ours. We have a variety of fabulous lesson ponies and horses to suit the many different levels of riders. At Meadow Wood, we feel that having safe, suitable lesson ponies/horses is the key to establishing a good and confident rider.

We teach lessons Monday through Friday and offer 30 minute private lessons, 45 minute semi-private lessons and 1 hour group lessons. We offer our lessons in monthly packages and always strive to customize your lesson schedule to fit in with your busy, daily life. Special times are also available for younger children, home-schoolers, and adults. We offer special lesson packages and prices for boarders. We welcome haul-in students as well.

I teach western riding lessons for ages 4 through adult. I have a 15 year record of safety and success with hundreds of riders both for recreation and competition. I own 17 horses and have my students learn to ride as many of them as possible so that they become excellent riders with many different breeds, sizes, and personalities. Our farm trains for and holds competitive trail riding competitions for those who wish to compete. We have miles of trails and many areas to ride. I teach 5 days a week, but I have a staff of instructors that allow us to teach 7 days a week. One thing that sets us apart from other farms is that we teach the rider the best control and balance by not using stirrups until the rider is at an advanced level. This teaches the rider to grip with his/her body and to become one with the horse when moving through the various gaits. We also teach the rider to use gentle aids that do not require much force and that foster building relationships with the horses. We teach low jumping for western riding as well for those who wish to jump obstacles out on the trail. My staff and I teach with patience and allow riders to learn at their own pace.
