Full time farrier service in Santa Fe, N.M. since 1984. Currently only accepting clients needing lameness consulting. I use the krosscheck device for leverage testing and observe the pattern of lameness on the lunge to assess. Then I will use various aluminum or plastic shoes and adjust their profile to reduce or eliminate lameness if possible. This protocol that I have used since 2010 has proven to be a very useful tool when traditional approaches fail to resolve or alleviate the lameness. I will provide on request recommendations of my service from local veterinarians. This is not a diagnosis as I depend on the veterinarian for that, it is simply an assessment of pain and comfort based on the krosscheck positions and response to various shoeing adjustments.
