Barefoot trimming, composite shoes, and hoof boots in southern New Hampshire and surrounding states.
My hoofcare journey started with one too many frustrating farrier experiences with my Thoroughbred eventer, prompting me to decide to learn to do it myself. I quickly discovered Pete Ramey and then Progressive Hoof Care Practitioners, and one thing led to another, and now here we are. I believe that no matter your discipline, your horses will be best served by striving to grow the healthiest hooves that they can.
My pricing structure is $50 for a routine barefoot trim (ie last trim no longer than a six weeks ago, no major behavioral issues for trimming, etc). Shoeing, boot fitting, horses whose last trim was more than six weeks ago, or horses for whom I need to schedule extra time for any other reason are charged at an hourly rate (rounded to the nearest quarter hour) based on the number of routine trims I could have gotten done in that time, plus materials where applicable. No travel fee within my primary travel radius, $10 travel fee within my secondary radius (split if I'm doing two horses in one stop, waived if I'm doing three or more in one stop).
I respond to inquiries by text message if a phone number is provided, email if a phone number is not provided. Now that I have figured out this website, I do respond to ALL my inquiries (generally within 24hr) so please follow up if you have not heard back within about 48hr as I am only human and do occasionally make typos and not every accidental recipient is nice enough to let me know that I reached the wrong person.
