20/20 Horsemanship / Horse Camp in Leesburg, Virginia

Horsemanship and riding lessons are taught by a certified instructor. We teach children ages 6 and up, & we love teaching adults! (Adults have fun at camp too!) From the student who has never touched a horse, to those with experience cantering and jumping, we offer something for everyone. We strive to focus on teaching good Horsemanship principles to everyone. This includes but is not limited to, learning how to read horses body language, learning how to use your own body language to influence the horse, understanding how herd behavior works and why it is so important to understand the differences of prey and predators. Campers will spend the day with a horse and/or on horse activities. Include in camp: Grooming, tacking up, riding, different riding styles, breeds, colors, markings, stable management, tack: parts of and how to clean, emergency medical issues, how to weigh and measure a horse an end of week show and more as time permits. (Some or all of the above may be included in the week’s activities)
