Yellow Horse Stables, LLC / Premier Horse Boarding Farm in Canon City, Colorado

If you are reading my ad you are either looking for a cheaper or better boarding option for your horse(s). Have you been to boarding facilities where the drama was high with other boarders or staff? Felt some boarders were treated differently than you and thought your horse was being treated differently too? Wondered if your horse was actually being fed what you were paying for? Had in injury/illness go unnoticed in your absence? Had a concern of safety, health or facility maintenance not addressed, rectified to your satisfaction or painfully slow in achieving that satisfaction? Worried that a change in your horse's behavior might be attributed to stress from human handling and behavior not yours? Made to feel the facility cared more about money and less about the horse(s)? Paying for full care but you are doing the work you are paying for? Went on vacation and found yourself worried about your horse?

NONE of that happens at my facility.

Very private with no thru road access or public road in view – but close in to Canon City – minutes to downtown. Experienced horse/property owner with impeccable references on site 24/7. All breeds and disciplines welcome. Your trainer/instructor with their own proof of liability insurance is welcome for no extra fee. I do not provide lessons or training. I have an excellent farrier and mobile equine vet - but your farrier/vet is also welcome.

I keep a clean and safe facility for my horses as well as yours. I do not cut corners with respect to human or equine safety and health. I pay attention to detail and not much will go unnoticed by me. I have all the basic equine first aid supplies on hand in the event of an emergency to apply while waiting on the vet to arrive. I'm not a vet but I'm pretty good at knowing when one should or shouldn't be called. I have extensive experience with rescue horses and have fostered a few in my day. I've seen all kinds of issues and challenges- health and behavioral - and usually a mix of both.

With my full care, you will never have to be concerned if your horse is being fed the hay you paid for, watered and taken care of. My past boarder references will attest to how worry free they are when their horse(s) have been in my care. I do understand horses are an expensive hobby when done right - but you can't put a price on peace of mind. I offer that peace of mind. With self-care - I will trust you will do what is required until demonstrated otherwise. I will not have poor condition horses on my property (exception would be a recently acquired horse in process of re-feeding - rescue, etc. ) I may not be the cheapest but I will give you value for the fee.

Self-care board - $175/mo/per horse. You provide all hay/feed, water, and clean. You may provide large/round bales and feeders if you like.

Self-care board w/grass hay - $290/mo. I provide ten (10) small grass bales of very clean and superior hay per month included in this price – average weight of grass bale 50-55 pounds. Hay is locally grown. You feed, water, and clean. I do not stock alfalfa.

Full care board w/grass hay - $400/mo. I provide ten (10) small grass bales of very clean and superior hay per month included in this price – average weight of grass bale 50-55 pounds. Hay is locally grown. I feed, water, and clean.

Blanketing, fly sheets, wound care, soaking feed, special requirements, etc…may be possible for extra fee.

I do not offer multi-horse discounts. Two or three horses do not eat less, poop less, require less attention than one, or cause less facility maintenance and wear and tear. There is no such thing as economy of feed, work, and attention with horses when done to the required standard.

Your horse will be out 24/7. No need for turn out.
