My Biography
While practicing with horses we can also practice with humans. We can learn relationship skills, work ethic, and morals. A therapeutic mindset to have going forward.
People work to develop a leadership role with an equine that shines. Clarity in conversation, both verbal and with the body, mind, and equine, make for happy horses and happy humans. Well trained multi-discipline horses can teach us lessons in their own right. I am always pleased to facilitate this type of conversation and encourage the relationship between the two species.
I have over 30 years of experience with horses. Training, showing and working in a variety of disciplines and industries including Saddleseat, Western Pleasure, Driving, Pony Club, 4-H, Thoroughbred Horse Racing, Standardbred Harness Racing, Equine Photography, Barrel Racing and Speed Events, lower level Eventing, Hunters, Dressage and Foxhunting. I do share my wealth of experience with my students.
I have been an instructor since 1988, most recently and currently at Choyce Acres. I educate gently where needed and more firmly where children need guidance. I was certified to instruct by the Horsemanship Safety Association in 1995, and certified as an HSA Assistant Clinician in 1996. I am experienced in inter-species communication, enabling horses and their riders to emotionally connect with and understand one another, as afore noted. I teach what I call “Wenglish,” which reflects the barn emphasis and focus on fun, barrel racing and foxhunting. We cater to all ages – come learn with us!

I enjoy teaching fun-loving groups as well as serious and private students. I especially love teaching the "little’s" and have had riders ranging from wee munchkin all the way up to adults aged 82. I cannot stress enough just how much I enjoy bringing my experiences to humans and horses and watching them learn and grow.
At present, Lower Level Dressage, safety over fences, riding OUT of the arena, and Speed Events (Barrels) are what I currently teach, and in which my students excel, exceeding all expectations. TEAM CHOYCE goes to 2 local Speed Shows 10 months out of the year; this is done on the third and fourth Saturday of each month. We are also fielding TEAM CHOYCE to local Hunter Shows too with Heather Madlin, a graduate of Morrisville! I also organize trail rides from the barn, into the parks, and out to other locales.

The horses in the program have won 10 saddles running speed events with their students and one horse won Palm Beach Hounds Field Hunter of the year 2009!
