A family owned farm on over 300 acres, Southern Heritage Farm offers English hunt seat riding lessons to children and adults from complete beginners to accomplished show ring riders. Local VHSA/BHSA horse shows are held on site. Instructor Tosh Bledsoe has more than 30 years experience teaching riders of all levels how to safely progress toward achievable goals.
Southern Heritage also has a unique "Saddle Club" for elementary and middle school students held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and some Saturdays. Saddle Club is a group format lasting 2 hours where kids ride, have horsemanship classes, work on crafts and get help with homework. Kids learn responsibility, empathy, and teamwork, all while spending time in the barn with friends and ponies!
The farm has a solid group of safe and educated school horses and ponies that have been carefully selected and trained to be excellent four-legged instructors! Huge outdoor ring with all weather footing and lights, two enclosed round pens for brand new beginners and specialized training, and miles of trails. Students can also sign up for special "trail ride lessons" that are scheduled monthly!
