Sommers Lane Equestrian Center is a full-care boarding and training facility located in Cicero, IN. The facility is semi-private with only 8 stalls available to outside boarders. This allows maximum customization for each horse and boarder. Our facility is designed to accommodate riders and horses of all ages, disciplines and riding levels.
We are dedicated to SAFE and SUCCESSFUL riding for all disciplines. On-site owner and trainer teaches biomechanically correct riding, which is the foundation you need to succeed in any/every discipline.
We believe even the highest level of sport horse can be exactly that.. a horse. We offer 12-16 hour daily turn out, non-grain-based diets, low sugar and starch hay, herbal supplements, and barefoot trimming.
We have lesson and training packages available for everyone.. trail rider to serious competitors, horses needing a tune-up, or horses with serious behavioral issues.

Care:

Barn Owners and managers, Adam and Hannah Barden, provide constant surveillance and oversight of the horses as they live and work on site.

Morning, afternoon, and evening, each horse is provided with high quality hay. As seasons change, grazing on well maintained, cleaned, and mown pastures is provided for each horse.

Morning and evening, every horse is given high quality custom grain. Many have asked us for this custom recipe, as the horses love it, and it leaves them healthy and shiny. Supplements are added when the owner provides.

Box stalls are bedded with ample shavings and meticulously cleaned every day. Each stall has an individual fan, heated water bucket, and free choice salt. Water buckets enable us to keep a sharp eye on each horse’s water intake.*

Since horses love being able to move freely, we give them every opportunity to enjoy being outside. Full day turnout is a given here, unless the weather is unfavorable to the point that the horses prefer being inside.

All paddocks have safe, electrified, White Lightning electric fencing to ensure your horse is not endangered if it becomes entangled. This fencing is a must have for horses!

When owners provide a fly mask, we will put it on in the morning and take it off at night for no extra charge.* Thanks to our paddock and pasture cleaning program, flies are rarely a concern.

Free choice salt blocks are provided for all horses, stalled or pasture boarded.

Each horse is observed daily by experienced horse care personnel; this includes notifications if your horse is lame, doesn't look well, or something else seems concerning.

Each spring, the turnout process on grass is careful and slow. We make certain that each horse has time to acclimate to the spring grass to ensure that they do not founder or become sick.

For your convenience, we offer horse training, exercising, riding instruction, individual special care, and much more! If you have a special need, let us know! We are happy to help!

Our large gravel parking lot and gravel drives to the paddocks will keep you walking on a solid surface. Trailer parking is provided for no extra fees.

Amenities:

A spacious, well lit with LED lights, 80’ wide indoor riding arena with sand footing provides ample space for multiple horses to exercise at the same time. All of the arenas have mounting blocks for easy mounting.

Outdoors, enjoy the large work arena with sand footing. Large trees offer shade on hot summer days. All of our arenas are dragged and groomed on a regular basis.

If you enjoy training your horse, you will love the large round pen with sand footing!

You will be amazed by the back-woods feeling you get when you step into the pine walled lounge. This lounge makes you feel as if you are in a log cabin. Air conditioned and fully equipped with a couch, table, high-seat observation window, stove, refrigerator, TV, and microwave, you may simply feel spoiled!

Clean and gorgeous, the barn bathroom is no less amazing than the lounge; you have never seen a barn bathroom this nice! Enjoy the hot water shower after a long ride.

The climate controlled tack room provides an excellent option for keeping your leather in great shape; or if you prefer, choose a lockable tack box at no extra charge.

Trails are relaxing and peaceful, and you simply must go out on the trails that surround the stable! Several of the trails wind through hilly, wooded countryside. If you are adventurous, skip the bridge and ride your horse directly across the creek! All of the riding trails are groomed regularly.

Large run-in-shelters offer protection from the elements.

Mud can be a nightmare in Indiana, so we opted for mud-control footing in key-areas of our large paddocks. Lost boot? No more!!

Thanks to the grooming bays, barn aisles are never blocked with cross-tied horses. Bright LED lights and ceiling mounted fans make these an excellent place for vet and farrier care, grooming, and saddling.

Jumps, cones, barrels, and much more are made available for boarders to use at their convenience.

Outdoor wash bay with concrete footing provides an excellent place for hosing off after a warm ride.

Nelson Automatic Watering Systems ensure constant, clean water at the right temperature year-round.

First Generation Stables is a Private boarding facility for your horse(s).- The stable was established in 1994 with over 35+ years of professional horse & boarding experience.

We have 6 stalls in total so this guarantees a very private setting for your enjoyment.

Recent updates: Old fencing was replaced with new three board Kentucky Style fencing in July 2016, and stall fronts were updated in September 2023.

There are a total of 16.5 acres divided into 6 pastures to ensure plenty of grazing.

Boone Ridge Stables, 33 years in business, is a safe and congenial horse farm located in the agricultural district of Zionsville. Horse board of $700/month includes daily turnout, stall cleaning, feeding 3x/day, hot bran mashes in winter and paste worming every 3 months. Feed and care is individualized to match the specific needs of each horse. The farm has white 3-board fencing, rolling pastures, double-fenced dry lots, interesting terrain with a pond, creeks and wooded areas. Construction of new twin barns with 25 stalls and full-sized indoor riding arena was completed in December, 2016. Climate controlled bathroom, laundry and kitchen were completed in 2017. We are an equestrian boarding facility located on 43 horse devoted acres. We have three large pastures with run in sheds and automatic waterers, a round pen, and an 80x120 indoor arena, 150x300 outdoor arena with professional jump course. For those preferring individual turnout we have three stud pens and 12 runs. The main barn features 18 roomy 12x14 stalls, a wash rack, and several tack areas. Also have 10 10x12 stalls and 6 new 14x16 stalls. Tippecanoe State Park is only fifteen minutes away and the county riding trail is a half mile down the road. Long or short term boards are welcome as well as injured horses receiving some extra TLC. We are also available as a horse motel for those travellers looking to park for the night and either turnout or stall their horses; plenty of room for trailer parking available.
