We are a Family owned horse boarding , horse camping and trail riding facility located on the outskirts of Libby, Montana on 161 wooded acres with a remote and quiet country setting offering personal quality care for your horse. Bordered by Kootenai National Forest, you will have unlimited access to over hundred miles of riding trails for you and your horse. Our property also over looks beautiful Lake Koocanusa with additional soft roads/trails and lake access. You will have other opportunities such as camping with or without your horse, kayaking, hiking, biking, fishing, and boating just to name a few. We have a new barn with 12x16 stalls available with very large runs and additional paddocks and/or turn outs with access to the creek that runs through our property and use of the 60’ round pen. The Indoor/Outdoor arena is in progress and expected to be finished by 2022. Additional services such as exercising, training reinforcement, endurance conditioning, and basic ground work are available upon request for additional fees.

Equine Assisted Therapy: We are proud to offer services in Equine Assisted Therapy. We work as the Equine Professional while using the EAGALA Model of equine assisted therapy. In this model the team consists of the Equine Professional, the Mental Health Professional and a group of qualified horses. Currently we contract our services with mental health providers. This is a great way to learn about yourself through the use of horses as mirrors. Truly an experience all should see to believe. This practice can be used in Addictions Counseling, Team Building and Leadership as well as Family Counseling to Marriage Counseling. A use of horses as a powerful learning tool.

New Winter 2016 Online Courses: Our newest educational opportunity is online courses and workshops in equine and agriculture sciences. Learn college level material from your home through our online platforms. Affordable education for the lifelong learner in all of us. All courses are available to home school and youth programs. Unlike other online programs we have recorded lecture as well as handouts that can be downloaded and printed out. Course offerings will be listed on Schedulicity as they are available.

Lessons: I offer group or private lessons to students in western and English styles of riding. An added touch for that person who wants that extra encouragement and helping hand. Lessons offered in Showmanship, English, Western, and Driving as well as horse care and management. Students are successful and winning in competition. Big Sky Horse Boarding is located just two miles south of Benefis hospital, Great Falls College and Providence University. There is lots of room for parking trailers and we live on-site for protection of your livestock and trailers. Our horse pens can easily accommodate two horses per pen with automatic heated waterers and spacious shelters. Our boarders have access to our outdoor riding arena, limited pasture riding and a daytime turnout area. We offer different options for long-term boarding of approximately 8 head of horses. Our boarders love the privacy of our location and yet we are only a little over two miles from the busiest street in Great Falls.

Horse Boarding rate is $225 per month. We feed excellent quality mixed grass round bales in round bale feeders with round bale hay nets around the bales to prevent over-eating. The horses are turning into the hay area early each morning and then taken off feed from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. They are brought into their pens each evening. You are responsible to clean your shelter and horse pen. We are flexible, very easy to get along with and are here to help in any way we can. Our stalls are cleaned twice daily, fed quality grass/alfalfa hay, and supplied with clean water 24/7. Owners are on site, training and lessons are available to anyone interested.
