Horseback Riding in Medford, Oregon (Jackson County)

We offer natural horsemanship lessons to students of all ages. We start each student riding our smooth Paso Fino horses bareback on a long line to help the student find their balance and develop an independent seat. Then we teach our students to ask the horse to change gait by increasing or decreasing their energy, rather than kicking or pulling on the horse. After the horse will "go" and "slow" off the student's seat, we teach our students to ask the horse to change direction through their seat and body language, rather than pulling on the reins, first in the round pen and then in our arena. After these basics are learned we move on to our trail course and teach our students how to approach and successfully cross trail obstacles. Weathering Springs is a full-care horse boarding facility with spacious 13x14 stalls, large, green pastures for turn-outs and a wonderful 150x75 outdoor sand arena.

Cassi Soule', the owner and manager of Weathering Springs, has been a life-long horse enthusiest starting in horses with her father when she was just able to get out of their way. From a young age she participated in 4-H for nine years in Western, English, Jumping, Horse Judging, Horse Bowl and Driving. She was also a member of Pony Club up to a C-2 rating, showed Arabians and mules at a Nation Level and competed on both the West and East Coast Jumper and Eventing Circuits.

Weathering Springs is a full service stable offering boarding, lessons, training, dressage clinics and sales of horses for all levels of riders.
