Windridge Farm, located on 60 lush green acres, offers a fun and educational summer camp with a hands on opportunity to learn all aspects of horsemanship while making friends and meeting our ponies and horses. Our camp counselors and helpers are true horse lovers and well informed & experienced horse people. We specialize in having a great time in horse camp!

Includes:
​A daily lesson with a certified instructor
Learning to tack up, untack, groom, feed and bathe a horse
Review anatomy, care, nutrition and more through fun games, activities and crafts

Demonstrations: Jumping, Horseshoeing & Vital Signs and First Aid​

Want to keep riding after summer camp? We offer year round lessons in our outside arena and two indoor arenas!
We also offer some horses and ponies for share boarding or leasing.

Want to go to horse shows? We offer entry level shows at the farm and we also attend local & national shows with our show team.

Each summer for over 20 years Riverside Stables has been running the Best Horse Camp in Springfield, Illinois! Children have a blast at horse camp. Kids will learn to groom, saddle, and ride, ride, ride! There will be lots of hands on with experienced CPR certified instructors, in a safe, clean environment. They will learn how to feed and care for horses. How to understand horses and their needs. They will learn Western horsemanship, breeds, colors, markings, hoof care, tack, and much more.
Great outdoor fun!
Riverside Stables has had 16 foals that were born and raised at our Ranch. Most are still used to this day for Trail rides, Horse Camp, Birthday Parties, and Riding Lessons.
Excellent for children, they are kid safe.
Horseback riding is an amazing way to experience the great outdoors and to connect with nature. Outdoor activities require physical exercise, which we all know is good health for our bodies. Just being outside has positive health benefits.
Horses have the special ability to make you be totally in the moment, they are therapeutic.

Camp at Palladia Farm is a great way for children to begin or continue their equine education both on and off the horse. Learn safety zones around a horse and at the farm, develop basic horsemanship and equine caretaking abilities, and practice your riding skills while mounted atop one of our safe, experienced school horses.

Teach basic first aid for horses. Topics covered include basic horse health: taking vitals, bandaging techniques and proper weight measurements. Also discussed are common horse health ailments. Day long class, starts around 9:00am and ends about 4:00pm. Morning snacks, water and lunch are provided by me, as well as an afternoon treat. Attendees take home a manual and a certificate of completion. Barns who host and have 10 or more participants can earn a free spot. Total course fee is $159. A family tradition family stable that is committed to all levels of riders, beginner thru advanced.
