Horse Camps in Shakopee, Minnesota (Scott County)

Half Pint Horse Camps use mini horses to give kids a great experience with horses and with camp. We do lead line jumping, obstacles, lunging, games, crafts and fun! Ages 5-12 are welcome.

Riding Classes
Erik’s Equine Center, a program of Erik’s Ranch & Retreats, announces Erik’s Riding Club beginning in January 2014. Each club meets once a week from January 7 through May 17. Erik’s Riding Club is open to youths of all experience levels from beginner through advanced.

Erik’s Riding Club for ages 7 to12
• Tuesday or Thursday 4 to 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday 2 to 5:30 p.m.
• Eight students per club
• Class time 80 minutes
- Ride, lunge and pony cart, 40 minutes
- Learn horsemanship, technical observation, work in the barn, 40 minutes
• Limo transportation from Edina and Eden Prairie (limo
arrives in Eden Prairie at 7:30 p.m./Edina at 7:45 p.m. Tues/
Thurs and 5:30/5:45 p.m Sat.
• Class fees per month
- With transportation from Edina, $217
- Without transportation, $171
• Ratio of riders to trainer: one to two for riding, one to four for off-horse activities

Erik’s Riding Club Sessions:

Summer Horse Camps for Youth

Get your child booked now for memories they will never forget this summer!

Boulder Pointe Equestrian and Event Center LLC is currently taking registration for Spring/Summer 2013 day and overnight camps!!!!! These camps teach your child excellent horse skills including tons of riding time!

Parents and children are invited to tour the facility, meet the horses, instructor, and sleeping areas if an overnight camp.

Day Camps: 9 to 3pm Monday through Friday
Daily Schedule:
Arrive at Camp
Get horse assignment for week
Go over safety around and one horses
Introduce instructor, helpers, and horses
Groom and tack up horses
Ride! (riding tasks/activities based on experience, campers split into small groups so campers get the most out of riding time)
Feed horses and do barn chores
LUNCH
Work with horses (lounging, free jumping,bathing, braiding manes and tails etc)
Horse Craft (Decorate horse shoes, picture frames, etc)

Overnight camps ages 8 and up
Campers arrive 9am Monday morning
Same daily schedule, except camper get another riding time in afternoon.
Also in includes is canoeing, trail rides, "sleep with the horses" night, etc.

Saint Francis Center is a non-profit organization that provides a Grace filled space where individuals, couples, families and groups can learn about the Body-Mind-Spirit approach to healthy life choices. Animal Assisted Activities and Therapy provide a hand's-on physically-active, and emotionally-intensive experience that can help with self-assessment, goal-setting and the building of Life Skills.

Saint Francis Center was created to help people learn about how the many connections affects one's health. The Mind-Body-Spirit connection, the human-animal connection, the family-community connection and most important, the faith-peace connection. Although all goals are individually developed for each two-legged and four-legged participants, some typical goals include some of the following:

Turn Crest offers some special camps through the summer, our "Little Riders" for ages 6 - 8, Beg. Jumping - you do not need to have a horse you can use one of ours. 3 day camps for Beginners and one for the show rider. 15 school horses give riders a chance to ride different levels both Hunt Seat and Western is taught.
