Strait Gait Stables is centrally located in the beautiful Willamette Valley, between Corvallis, Lebanon, Salem and Eugene. It is a convenient relaxing oasis just 3 miles from the growing suburban landscape of Albany, yet it is far enough away to enjoy the quiet countryside on horseback.

The Albany Expo Fairgrounds, Oregon State University and Interstate I-5 are only 7 miles from the facility.

The owners, Robert and Mary have over 60+ years of combined experience. They have developed a reputation as dedicated professionals, offering a modest facility for boarding, teaching riding and horse care to all ages and abilities. There is a place for everyone at SGS, from the experience competitive rider to the beginning or pleasure rider. All breeds and disciplines are welcomed.

We are a locally owned horse boarding facility. We sit on over 90 acres and offer 4 levels of care for your horse(s). We have a large indoor and outdoor arena, we are normally always full but we do have a couple stalls available. Offering premium full care boarding. Horses turned out year round in grassy pastures. Grass hay and low carb/sugar complete feed provided. Large indoor arena, outdoor arena available in dry season, arena groomed & watered regularly. Just had new footing added in May 2014. 60' round pen. Knowledgeable staff have their own horses and give care with a personal loving touch. Full care boarding includes one lesson a week. Locking tack room. Hot water wash rack. Dressage training and riding lessons available. Riders learn how to understand horse behavior. Riders refine aids to influence the horse. Relationships are built on trust to improve performance. Instructor, Kati Kanton, will help you become a balanced rider, understand the principles of dressage, and work though any apprehension you may experience. Small, quiet and private horse boarding facility located directly adjacent to Elijah Bristow Equestrian Park.

Enjoy access to over 10 miles of horse trails and trail training stations without the need to use a horse trailer or ride on main roads.


The barn features three 12 x 12 stalls, each equipped with rubber mats, secure latching doors leading to both pasture and breezeway, as well as dedicated grain and hay receptacles and individual water spigots.

Amenities include an insulated and locking tack room with storage options, including saddle racks.

Horses are allowed to access the pasture freely.

The pasture encompasses 5 acres of a mix of trees and meadow, which has recently been reseeded with low-endophyte equine forage.

Although the barn is older, it has been well-maintained and is dry, with ample space for hay storage.

The monthly fee of $225 includes twice daily feeding, stall cleaning, field maintenance, and water trough upkeep. Hay and grain are provided by the tenant. Access to a neighboring outdoor arena can be arranged.

Additional services, such as masking and blanketing, can be discussed for an extra fee.

This facility is located on acres of rolling to flat pasture, with views of the surrounding hills. Property is always well managed and secure. Facility is conveniently located 10 minutes from the city of Roseburg.
Barn environment is always kept very clean, organized, and provides a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere. As a Boarder - you have the opportunity for private lessons and/or training sessions, and can participate in informational clinics, scheduled trail rides, and/or horse events, to improve your horsemanship skills. This Stable offers Full Care Boarding - with access to all ammenties at $450 per month. There are NO hidden or extra fees for care.
