We are located at 2330 Old Columbus Rd, Bowdon, Ga 30108 in Carroll County, GA, 20 minutes southwest of I-20. It was established in 2006. Our facility is set on 24 lush acres with a 6 stall barn and 2 free standing stalls with their own private paddocks. We have been in the horse industry for over 20 years (first in Florida).

Russell Ridge was a carefully selected farm. William spent several years working at different facilities that did not meet his standards for quality. Some of the farms had inadequate turn out, turnout that lacked grass or forage, or no turnout at all, rings that were too small or had poor footing, and had barns that were poorly lit or lacked space and functionality; all of which he considered to be extremely basic and important factors for a farm. He began searching for a location that had the potential to have all the amenities he was looking for. In 2004, he found it. Named for the ridge that runs along the side of where the ring now sits, Russell Ridge had it all. An enormous open field that could be split multiple times for huge turnout fields, and room on top of the ridge for a big barn and ring with an excellent view of the pastures. Back then there wasn’t any kind of driveway and the top of the ridge was an extremely uneven pine forest, but William had a vision, and he spent the next seven years bringing it to life. Russell Ridge opened its’ doors December 1, 2011, and now features all the amenities William sought to offer; a spacious 12 stall barn complete with tack room, wash rack, and plenty of cross ties, an adjacent 4 stall barn facing the ring, a huge ring with a wide variety of jumps and great footing, 7 large fields for your horse to play in and enjoy plenty of grass, and flat, manicured trails perfect for a walking or hacking trail ride.... Hello, and thank you for looking into Merrimac Farm! We are a private boarding facility nestled in the woods of Suwanee, GA. Our ten stall facility is rested on 10 beautiful acres, which is broken up into 7 spacious, green pastures. Along with that, we also have a 180' x 150' arena that is completely redone and with new footing. We provide a full jump course along with dressage letters. A round pen is also provided.

Our facility has first class care. Horses get fed with premium hay and grain, two times a day, along with round bales for the fall and winter months for outside. Supplements given upon request. Stalls are cleaned upwards to 4 times a day and well bedded. Water troughs and water buckets are thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed everyday. Blanketing is also included to owners specifications. Owners live on property so there is always someone watching.

Our air conditioned and heated tack room includes private lockers for each boarder, along with an updated restroom. Whole barn is well lighted along with ceiling fans in every stall for the hotter days. Fly spray system is also installed in the facility. Two wash racks are provided. Barn, stalls, and wash racks are kept immaculate. Mats are in all stalls.

Very quiet and peaceful atmosphere, along with a great location in the community. Hunter/Jumper and Dressage training is available, along with training for your horse if needed. We go to local and rated shows all year long, with all of our students placing high in the ribbons every time.

We have full board as well as co-op board starting @ $250 per month. Individual Turn Out Available. Round Pen and Dressage Arena. Jumps Available. We also have horses for lease or lease purchase.

We offer customized boarding to fit individual needs. Our pastures are fenced and crossed fenced with hot fence and wood board fencing. Hay is supplied during winter months and Fly Predator during summer months. Horses are checked daily and water is provided year around - heated tubs in winter - as well as loose salt. We offer vet clinics at least twice per year on site. Stalls are 10x12 with hay feeder and bucket hooks. Quarantine Lot, Separate Paddocks also available for temporary use as needed.

We have a large arena, barrels, poles, round pen, on-site trails, and rest room for your use and convenience. Each boarder is given a tack room area and trailers may be parked on site. We are only a few short minutes to the Chickamauga Battlefield and VW Equestrian trails. We limit the number of horses on 55 acres, 45 of which are pasture for the horses.
