Safe Haven Farm is located on 42 acres in the heart of Metamora Hunt Country. Our farm is perfectly suited for hunt horses, trail horses, and retirees. We have large rolling grass pastures and wonderful riding trails on and adjacent to the property. Your horse's well being is our top priority at Safe Haven Farm. Ascend Equestrian is a premier full-service Hunter/ Jumper/ Equitation facility specializing in boarding, training, lessons, shows, and sales/ leases. With our convenient location in Oakland Township, Michigan, we are just 5 minutes from downtown Lake Orion, 10 minutes north of Rochester, and 13 minutes from I-75, making us an easy drive from Oakland, Genessee, and Macomb county.

Our trainers oversee every aspect of the horses' care, providing each horse with an individualized, comprehensive feed, care, and training program. We strongly believe that happy and health horses perform best and it is the result of the entire program that our horses perform successfully. Horses at Ascend benefit from daily review of health by the staff and trainer/ management coordinated veterinarian, farrier, and chiropractic programs. Our service providers work closely with each other and trainers to ensure a well-rounded program for your horse.

For the convenience of our clients and health of our horses, our board is all-inclusive, ensuring that your horse is properly cared for year-round, 24-7. We understand that clients are busy and have other commitments so it is our goal to provide all necessary care for your horse, regardless of if you can be present or not. Trainers oversee daily horse care, daily medical care, administration of medications, hand walking for horses on stall rest, blanketing, and anything else necessary to ensure the health and happiness of your horse.

We feed only the highest quality of hay and feed and use high-quality absorbent shavings for the comfort of your horse and our horses benefit from daily private or small group turnout, weather permitting, and regular arena turnout and lunging as necessary.

Our professional staff of grooms bring decades of experience in horse care and a wealth of knowledge to Ascend Equestrian. For the safety of your horse, our professional staff members live onsite and are available for night checks in the event of health concerns.

All horses are in full training with Ascend Equestrian training staff and owners have the option to mix and match up to 5 lessons or training rides per week. Our trainers help to design the correct training schedule for you and your horse in order to ensure optimal improvement and advancement for horses and riders. We understand that life happens and owners may miss lessons. Trainers are available to provide extra training rides in order to ensure that training never lapses and horses are properly exercised each week.

You can call or email us at We are located just 10 west of Grand Rapids, 2 miles off from I-196 west going toward Muskegon, in Marne which is right near Coopersville. We are a small horse boarding stable with personal attention to every horse and even work with babies. Your horse can have a safe rubber matted stall at night and during threatening weather. Indoor board is $375.00 per month. In the summer there are six different pastures for daily turnout. Horses are turned out, mares with mare and geldings with geldings.. They have hay, grass and water available to them. We do your supplements at their night time feeding. We have our horses on a rotational worming schedule. We have a moderate sized indoor arena for riding in inclement weather and a large out door arena for the summer time riding. We tack up horses in their individual stalls and have areas for your tack to be on site. We have a warm/cold wash area for washing your horses or taking care of any injuries. We have trainers available to meet your specific needs. Windmill Acres also has a group farrier. We have a vet within 10 minutes of the farm and try to group our vet visits to help defray any of the costs. Circle R Horse Ranch is a full care boarding facility. Our rates are $300 if you choose to provide grain or $350 full service. We have a large indoor arena, open stalls, 4-horse hot walker, round pen, restroom, observation room, free trailer storage and much more!
