We are a full care horse boarding facility in Salem, OR. We are located near I-5 and pride ourselves in being a family friendly facility. We have a 72' x 120' fully enclosed indoor arena. 3 tack rooms, wash room, hot and cold water wash rack.12' x 12' matted and bedded stalls that are cleaned twice daily. we feed twice a day with our hay/alfalfa and any owner supplied grain and supplements. Each stall has automatic waterers installed. We are on 13 acres with large group pastures or separate paddocks depending on what the owner wants. Here is a little bit of information about our facility and services:

· Full care board includes: feeding low sugar Teff hay plus your bagged grain and supplements, stall cleaning (bedding supplied), turn out, and access to our fun and exciting equine community here at Tamarind Ranch.
· Private gated property with individual keypad access
· Covered 72x136 Arena that is well lit, sand footing with irrigation for dust control. The arena is groomed often to maintain proper and healthy footing.
· 60 foot round pen with sand footing.
· Boarder Tack Room and Dressing Room

· 5 maintained pastures, 3 of which have run in shelters

A brand new facility just built this summer (2010), we offer Full and Partial care boarding for horse owners who are wanting to better their horsemanship. We do Dressage,English,Western,a little Jumping we have every thing availble to do jump though. We are also the home of B.E.A.T Riding center. B.E.A.T. Riding Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to provide physically, mentally and emotionally challenged individuals an opportunity for emotional and physical growth through horsemanship.

Phyllis Herinckx and Jackie Hopper founded BEAT in 1997 when they were inspired by the dramatic physical and cognitive improvements made by Bradley, a student with cerebral palsy and learning impairments, through horse back riding. Phyllis and Jackie wanted to start a program that could help others reap the benefits from therapeutic riding.

Today BEAT serves over 30 disabled riders each week, including riders from Portland and all over Washington County. We also provide instruction to groups from the YWCA, Head Start and the school districts of Forest Grove, Beaverton and Hillsboro. Riders at BEAT include individuals with a wide range of disabilities including Downs syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy. BEAT is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) and abides by the association's guidelines for safety and operation.


Our primary funding source is individual contributions. As a federally tax-exempt charitable organization, most of the donations that support BEAT are tax-deductible.

We currently have three instructors. Two of our instructors are certified by NARHA and one is in training. The NARHA certification process tests the applicants' knowledge and skills in the areas of equine management, horsemanship, instruction, teaching methodology and disabilities.The "tools" of the BEAT program are seven highly trained and carefully chosen horses and ponies.

The riders and instructors of BEAT rely on volunteers to make the center a success. Horse experience is needed to lead horses, but not for most of the
