Dragonfly Farms is owned and operated by an equine veterinarian. We offer both pasture board and full board. Retired horses are fed grain twice daily, blanketed, groomed weekly and held for the vet/farrier appointments. Lay-up horses receive the individual care that is prescribed by their veterinarian. Well-established Keelona Farm is located in southern Albemarle County, convenient to Charlottesville and 20 minutes from Interstate 64. The facility sits on 75 acres surrounded by Farmington Hunt territory and adjacent to a top level eventing barn. For the last 15 years we have been specializing in detailed senior care for retired hunter jumpers. These horses receive the best in care and attention. Under our watchful eye we manage for your horse, administration of treatments or meds as per veterinarian and/or farrier instructions. Comprehensive daily grooming, hand walking and/or turn out as needed. Development and implementation of individual treatment/fitness/nutrition plan
that can be adjusted according to needs. Frequent communication and updates to owners, vets and trainers. Pampered retirement for the equine athlete. Riding to fitness is also available. Owner lives on property with 24/7 monitoring.

The PJ Williams 14-stall custom structure is centrally located on the property and offers many options that a foaling mare or injured horse on its way to recovery will need. It is within the close service range to four or more veterinary hospitals.
The barn itself has an indoor track for walking and jogging with stalls in the center. There is an efficient 4-fan ventilation system in the roof that pulls air up and out in the hot weather. Radiating out from the barn are many options for private turn out that can be large or small, pasture or dry lot, most with run in sheds and fans. The stalls are 12 x 12 with several 12 x 24 foaling stalls and an observation room. Fencing is horse-safe woven Kentucky Diamond wire with top boards.

We are a small family owned and operated boarding facility located near Candlers Mtn within minutes of Liberty University. We offer self care boarding on 32 acres starting at $225/month. Partial care is available on a case by case basis. We also offer a multi-horse discount. We have 15 stalls, two locked tack rooms, feed room, new outdoor riding arena, round pen, hot/cold water in our wash rack, and 4 pastures of varying sizes. We have jumps, barrels, poles, etc for all training needs. We also have access to hundreds of miles of trails. We limit horses to no more than 15 at one time to avoid overgrazing pastures and allow every horse their own stall. We separate our mares and geldings to avoid conflict and dangerous behavior. We introduce new horses gradually to avoid unnecessary injuries that can be caused by immediate herd integration. We offer a family atmosphere and trail ride together as often as possible. If your horse likes water, we have a small pond you can take them swimming in when it gets hot. We have an instructor on site with a lesson program.

We are a boarding, training, and lesson facility located just 15 minutes south of Charlottesville, VA (very short drive to UVA). We love all types of horses, whether they be young or old, retired or just starting, or somewhere in between. We are a laid back family oriented barn, that prides itself on the drama free atmosphere and horse focused care.

Our horses in training go to horse shows and trailering is available to boarders who desire to go to the same shows or even different ones. We specialize in training, starting and restarting horses (particularly Thoroughbreds) so that they understand the job they have and learn to love what they do. We truly get to know each horse and understand what makes each individual animal unique. All horses are respected and appreciated here and given exceptional care.

Drinkwater Equestrian is a brand new facility in Williamsburg, Va. We have an 18 stall barn, each matted stall is 12x12 with an automatic water and Dutch door style window. We have a 130x230 lighted PVC fenced ring, four large turnouts and two smaller private turnouts. There is plenty of space to ride around the property and we are also minutes from a park with horse trails. We live on the property and take care of the horses ourselves.
