Owner Marcelo Barros has over 35years experience in teaching and competing. Short listed for the Brazilian Show jumping team Marcelo brings with him a vast knowledge of riding, teaching and horsemanship.

Summer Camp at Southern Cross Stables 2017
Camp at Southern Cross Stables includes:
Horsemanship Skills
Safely approach, halter, lead & tie a horse; groom the horse, learn the parts of the horse; tack up; stall cleaning and barn chores.

Riding
Campers who are beginners will learn to mount and dismount; ride at the walk on the lunge line; halt properly and accurately from the walk; work on confidence building exercises and stretches; guide the horse at the walk; and walk the horse accurately over patterns of poles and cones. Trot work will be introduced on the lunge line. Campers will be evaluated for higher skill levels, and work based on their abilities.

Supervised Swimming
Campers will need to bring a bathing suit, towel, rubber flip flops or sandals, and a bag for their damp swim gear.

Games, activities and videos
Campers will have age-appropriate, noncompetitive recreational and educational sessions .
Adjustments will be made based on the age of the camper.

Camp 2 June 26-30
Camp 3 July 3- 7
Camp 4 July 17-21

Eden Farm offers lessons and training for equestrians participating in competitive show jumping. Our program focuses on establishing a quality foundation in horsemanship, the basics of classic hunter/jumper riding, and camaraderie. We accommodate all levels, including children and adults from beginner to the experienced rider.

Eden Farm hosts three summer camp sessions. Kids enjoy learning the basics of horsemanship in English riding. This is a week-long camp with emphasis on grooming, proper handling and riding a pony/horse. Additional fun activities include painting the ponies, a water slide and the super popular horse show at the end of the camp. M & M Equine Training provides children ages 6 to 15 with an opportunity to learn about horses and horsemanship in a fun and exciting summer camp program. Our weekly day camps are designed to benefit both the beginner and as well as students with prior knowledge and experience of horses. We believe that participating in our summer horse camp is a great way to build your child's self-confidence and help them develop good decision making skills. Attending horse camp promotes independence while learning responsibility and cooperation.

Students will learn about every aspect of the horse from grooming and tacking up to nutrition and basic care. Each week we will bring in a professional such as a veterinarian or farrier to discuss new topics about the horse. Students will have the opportunity to ask this professional questions and see first hand how to properly care for a horse.

Students will also learn the parts of the horse, common illness and diseases, breeds, proper care of tack and equipment, different riding disciplines and SO MUCH MORE! Daily riding sessions are catered to the individual needs of each student and their ability and level of experience. We focus on teaching each rider to have a balanced seat and a soft hand. Our ponies and horses are amazing teachers and will take care of each rider as they learn. How fast the individual advances all depends on that individual. The only requirement we have is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!!

We have designed daily arts and craft activities that will continue teaching students about their equine friends in a fun and creative way. We offer summer camps for $250 a week ($200 a week for multiple weeks) from 8-5. We accept students 4 and up from beginner to experienced. We have a great group of SAFE horses. We teach safety, general riding, cutting, team penning, sorting, roping, ranch riding, obstacles, trail riding and much more! We also have draft horses so students can go for rides and learn to drive. Each student get to choose what they want to learn about.
