White Horse Dressage offers several ponies and horses for the student to work with and progress through the levels of dressage from basic riding to Second Level on a seasoned retired champion.

Valerie has over 35 years working with horses starting with the United States Pony Club in Southern California in the late 1970's. This was an excellent foundation for a strong background on safety and good horsekeeping. She has taught for many horse camps over the years in Southern and Northern California and instructed many students in the art of dressage for a total of 8 years with happy and healthy clients and horses. She has won several regional championships and one state championship, plus taken young horses to the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals in Idaho. Her students score well at both rated and schooling dressage and breed shows.

Lesson Prices:
Under age 6 Pony Lesson: $20/ half hour
Private (ages 5 to 7): $30/half hour
Private (ages 7 and up): $40 if regularly scheduled weekly lesson
Groups (ages 7 and up): $30
Ladies Dressage Group - $30 (two hours, last Saturday of each month)

More than one lesson per week: $30 per hour

Leases available:
Half-lease: $250/month, 3 rides per week, includes one lesson.

Lucy enjoys teaching riders from many backgrounds. She finds it rewarding to work with beginners as well as advanced riders. The fundamentals of dressage can be introduced at any age and riders at Classical Hoofbeats Dressage range in age from six to sixty. Lucy deconstructs the complex theory and application of dressage. She then presents the information and instructs the rider in a way that makes dressage understandable and enjoyable. Training with Lucy will prepare the horse for a competitive dressage career or will develop the athleticism suitable for participation in other equestrian sports.

Classically trained by the best, now striving every day for the same. FEI trainer and rider Verena Mahin trains horse and rider through Grand Prix.

Verena began her career in her native Germany, then moved to Canada. She spent 4 years as first rider and stable manager in the Netherlands for Bert Rutten, Olympic rider/trainer and Chef d’Equipe of the Dutch Olympic team. She competed at many national competitions, including showing four of Mr. Rutten’s four-year olds in The Pavo Cup (young horse selection trials) in the Netherlands.

Verena trains with Juan Matute when he clinics in California, and also trains with Steffen Peters. She is currently campaigning her DUtch Warmblood Unity at Intermediare I, and has a selection of young horses that will be making their show debuts in 2012. Verena is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist. She trains students up to Grand Prix level and competes for VS Dressage Inc. at Whitethorne Ranch in Somis, CA.... See More
