I specialize in OTTB re-training, but I also train all breeds. I offer mobile training and horsemanship/ riding lessons. I help OTTB's transform into Western Riding. I use Natural Horsemanship to re-train TB's for their next career. I am mentored by a John Lyon's Certified Trainer. I am familiar with the racing world, and have worked on the back stretches of Hawthorne & Sportsman's Park and Balmoral Raceway all in Chicago area. Thoroughbreds are born & bred as elite athletes and they need some one who understands them to retrain their brain for a consistent and safe riding partner. Thoroughbreds are very brave & courageous, and have huge hearts, they have a lot to give for the right owner. We start colts in a low stress manner, taking the time to prepare them for their first saddling and their first ride, doing so with the help of another horse. We start with ground work in the round pen and work our way outside and expose them to everyday life situations. If given the time I do take the horses on the trail and in the mountains. At Fantasia Farm, lessons are available to everyone from the first-timer to the most advanced. Our youngest student has been two; our oldest student has been seventy-six. Students are given the opportunity to choose from the many forms of riding such as Western, Huntseat, and Saddleseat. Lessons last an hour and are generally divided into three sections. Over 30 years of experience training cutters, reined cow horses & versatile ranch horses for both show & play. Located in the heart of Central Kentucky approximately 1 hour from Louisville and Lexington and 2.5 hours from Nashville. We haul to NCHA, NRCHA, & VRH shows throughout the Midwest, South & Southeast. Our facilities include 12x12 matted stalls, a 130x240 outdoor sand arena, an 80x156 indoor sand arena, (2) roundpens, (3) ProCutters & live cattle & buffalo on site. Training horses receive regular chiropractic visits & Theraplate sessions & have access to highly respected lameness veterinarians & therapeutic/corrective farriers.
