From helping you find your new horse, to getting them started in the right direction to taking you to the top as a team, or out on the trail. My current two lesson horse/pony were both found, broke and trained by me. They have taken me and many of my students to firsts and grandchampionships in barrel racing pleasure and dressage. The 3rd horse I have is my future step daughters hunter jumper that I have retrained to become a winner in the western pleasure show ring.
I have over 30 years experience training horses from ponies to draft breeds. Horses I have trained have gone to national level in western pleasure, pole bending, barrel racing and trail competition.

We offer horseback riding lessons, specializing in Hunt Seat, Western Pleasure and Trail. Riding lessons, training, showing and sales are provided by Connie Wilson of Connie Wilson Performance Horses. Lessons are private or group for 1 hour in the riding ring. Lesson horses are available as well as horses for lease.

Full board in our custom 16 stall show barn includes feeding, stalls picked 2x per day and daily turnouts on lush private 18 acres of multiple cross fenced turnout paddocks. Trainer lives on site 24/7. Other amenities include 100x200 lighted riding ring, 60' round pen, heated and cooled client lounge, fridge, microwave, restroom, tack room and outdoor patio. WiFi access is available at the barn and riding ring.

I am an up and coming horse trainer north of Atlanta Georgia. I have been training for five years and my focus is good quality horsemanship. I share the philosophy of the Dorrance's, Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman and people that have studied under them. I believe in building a relationship with your horse that will turn into a great partnership. I went to Pennsylvania for an eight month long internship at a facility that specializes in reining and Mustang Makeovers. I had the opportunity to compete in the Mustang Makeover competition and placed fourth overall with my mustang Montague. I am posting this in the "western" section but I believe that the foundation and basics are the same for any discipline. I love riding and training but am most passionate about helping riders to have more confidence in themselves and their horses. I may be able to hop on someone's horse and ride it but if the owner can't do that, for whatever reason, what is the point? All horses in the Safe Horse Training Program are started in the round pen, taught fundamental groundwork, and then are ridden in the arena, out in open fields, on the local trails and on the obstacle course at Allison Creek Farm. This diverse training program builds a safe, solid equine partner from the ground up. Once your horse has graduated from the program, she will be ready to begin a career in Dressage ,Jumping, Trail Riding or any other discipline you choose.

Think about the Safe Horse Training Program as your horse's Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade education. While under our training program, your horse will receive consistent training that will build the foundation for life. You can expect your horse to walk/trot/canter at a consistent speed on a loose rein, stop with one rein, two reins, off your seat and with a simple "whoa". Your horse will steer off your leg or with the rein.
Like with any individual's learning ability, your horse's experience will be unique to them. You will be kept in the loop as to their progress and be a part of the decision making as to how to move forward with your horse's individual needs.

In the Safe Horse Training Horsemanship Clinic, riders will learn how to establish and maintain a safe and respectful relationship with their equine partner. Each clinic begins on the first day with classroom work. It is imperative in the human/horse relationship to understand how your horse thinks, what makes him tick. When the human can see life through the horse's eyes, a deep and meaningful relationship and communication begins to develop.
After the classroom session, we will go out to the arena for the groundwork session of the clinic. A rope halter, 12' to 14' lead rope and training stick are required. If you do not have this equipment, loaners are available.
In the afternoon, we’ll saddle up and ride. Each exercise that is taught in the groundwork session is a foundation for the riding portion of the clinic. The only requirement for tack is a snaffle bit, leather curb and loop reins. Shank bits will not work in this clinic, any good fitting saddle is acceptable.... See More

Western riding lessons and barrel racing lessons available. I have over 20 years experience with the basics of horse safety, husbandry, and running classes. A personal equine helmet and your own personal horse is required for lessons. Minimum age requirement is 8yo. I work with your schedule, with your level of self confidence, and communication/relationship with horses rather than first places and winning. I teach the basics, safety, and speed events or just working with your own horse. My preference is to teach a mixture of Ken McNabb, Charmayne James, and Clint Anderson along with what I have learned over the years, based off of your horses needs. Willing to travel.
