We start colts in a low stress manner, taking the time to prepare them for their first saddling and their first ride, doing so with the help of another horse. Our family provides a true Retreat for both horse and horseman to fully develop the all important Classical Foundation Training strengths - in an engaging, safe, and productive manner - while enjoying both the convenience of our location, and the serenity of our secluded atmosphere. Located on 80 acres of varied terrain, our facilities include boarding pastures, hay fields, woods, creek, bluff, trails with natural obstacles, round pens, high tie, tack building with shower, "play ground," and indoor/outdoor riding areas. Select horses in training may also have access to cattle, roping, other facilities, and riding in clinics I may attend.

At Fantasia Farm, lessons are available to everyone from the first-timer to the most advanced. Our youngest student has been two; our oldest student has been seventy-six. Students are given the opportunity to choose from the many forms of riding such as Western, Huntseat, and Saddleseat. Lessons last an hour and are generally divided into three sections. I specialize in OTTB re-training, but I also train all breeds. I offer mobile training and horsemanship/ riding lessons. I help OTTB's transform into Western Riding. I use Natural Horsemanship to re-train TB's for their next career. I am mentored by a John Lyon's Certified Trainer. I am familiar with the racing world, and have worked on the back stretches of Hawthorne & Sportsman's Park and Balmoral Raceway all in Chicago area. Thoroughbreds are born & bred as elite athletes and they need some one who understands them to retrain their brain for a consistent and safe riding partner. Thoroughbreds are very brave & courageous, and have huge hearts, they have a lot to give for the right owner. Thoroughbreds are not for everybody-even lifelong horseman may not 'get' their personality.
