Thorpland Plantation is a private equine facility located in Yorktown, Virginia. At this time we are strictly a lesson and horse rehabilitation facility.

Here at Thorpland Stables we focus on beginner students and specialize in horsemanship, which is more than just riding. Horsemanship means learning skills and knowledge, and especially the attitude, feeling and responsibility for horses that makes a true horseman or horsewoman. In addition we focus on balanced seat, basic english and saddleseat equitation, but we welcome all disciplines and levels of experience.

Graywood is a riding barn, located near the tri-county corner of Culpeper, Madison, & Orange! 25 beautiful acres with access to miles of riding trails and an 8-stall barn. The riding ring is 200x120 with stone dust & sand footing and equipped with nice jumps. There is also a small round pen for ground work. Graywood is a family friendly farm that is happy to accommodate riders and horse lovers of all ages and experience levels (group and privet lessons). We are able to do theraputic riding classes as well (private lessons only). We believe in creating a safe and fun environment where everyone is encouraged to be the best they can be.
Owner & Instructor is Denise Lynch. Denise has over 30 years experience teaching, training, and showing. She moved to Madison County 17 years ago and has coached many winning riders over the years. Join our elite hunter jumper facility located in the heart of Gloucester, VA on Eagle Point Plantation. Situated on 390 acres of water front property, breath taking views and over 330 miles of trail riding. Board is $960/ month which includes 4 private lessons with our hunter jumper trainer who has 20+ years of experience and horse showing all over the eastern coast, training with some of the top trainers on the circuit. We also offer lessons on our lesson horses for $55/ lesson or a package of 4 lessons for $200. We participate in "AA" and "A" rated shows, as well as local shows.
