WANAJA FARM is located along a beautiful scenic route in Oldham County, Kentucky in the heart of historic countryside. We are a state-of-the-art boarding and training facility, primarily for the discipline of dressage, but welcome other disciplines, as well. We offer riding lessons at all levels and for all ages.

WANAJA FARM has two new barns, and good fencing. The training barn has 17 matted 12'x12' stalls, a heated/air conditioned viewing room with microwave, refrigerator and freezer, a laundry room, wash rack with hot and cold water, feed room, two tack rooms, and a heated bathroom/changing room. In addition, the training barn has a 156'x72' indoor riding arena for year-round training and vaulted ceilings for jumping horses.

The smaller barn has 12 12'x12' matted stalls and is just a short jaunt from the indoor arena and full-size outdoor arena. There is also a breaking pen at this barn where young horses are broken by Wanaja Farm professionals.... See More

Our small family farm has room for one or two boarders. We are located 2.6 miles from the heart of downtown Versailles. The property has full perimeter fencing, a nice Morton barn, heated automatic waterers, and a schooling/riding oval.

HORSE BOARDING OPTIONS

>>> Full care: This is basic pasture board. Includes daily feeding and handling. Grain is included. Hay is included with winter surcharge. We will hold for farrier (board cost includes one trim monthly). We will hold for vet during maintenance visits (semi-annual checkup and additional vaccination visits). You have use of the riding ring and tack/feed room. >>> Riding oval: This is a 200' x 100' grass oval paddock right next to the barn. We use it for riding and schooling.

>>> Wood fencing: The full farm has four-board wood fencing.

>>> Barn: A 5-stall barn offers room for hay storage plus a secure tack and feed room with climate control. Dedicated stall available. No worries about mice: Two barn cats are on the job!

>>> On-site owners: Farm owners live on the property. We'll watch your horse the same as we do our own, and let you know if we see anything unexpected.

>>> Available resources: We work with a trusted local veterinary practice. We have a well-regarded farrier. We have a horse-care provider to cover vacations or other absences. We use a local hay grower with amazing hay. We feed McCauley Bros. grains (made 2.9 miles away!). As a boarder, you may choose to join us for these services or use your own providers.

Because your horse(s) will be pasture-mates with our own horses (a young broodmare and a retired mare), we are accepting only well-mannered broodmares or retirees. We require Coggins and health certification, plus up-to-date vaccination records. First month board plus last month board are required before move-in.

Our horse boarding facility offers a lovely and peaceful environment for both you and your horse. We are a small gaited private facility. We offer 24 hour turnout on lovely grass pastures with small numbers of horses on each pasture. We have a beautifully sited outdoor full size dressage arena with all weather synthetic footing. We also have a lovely WE or Working Equitation course. The WE obstacle course is designed for anyone that would like to teach their horse how to navigate trails, a dressage test, or a jump course and uses classical principles to do so. It is an extremely effective way to build confidence for riders and horses. WE is a very old sport in Europe and quickly gaining popularity in the states. Besides being a challenge to horses and riders, it's just plain fun! We also have a 50' round pen and numerous trails both on and off the property so there is no need to trailer your horse every time a trail ride is desired. This property is part of the original Woodford Hunt and boasts lovely land for a ride around the beautiful hills of Woodford County. Our tack room features individual lockers to keep you tack clean and safe. Our tack room is also heated during the winter months.

The Owner/Trainer lives on the premises and has a clear view of every pasture from the residence, so you can be assured that your horse is safe and cared for by an experienced professional.

Our riding program focusses on centered, balanced riding from beginning to advanced students of all disciplines. We have talented horses available for lease to serious students.
