We have 17 12x12 matted stalls, 150 x 250 lighted outdoor arena, 80 x 120 indoor, 9 enormous pastures, 2 hot/cold wash racks, private tack lockers, heated lounge and trails. All aspects of the facility are managed by the trainer, Annette Danehy. Lessons are individually tailored to improve balance, confidence, safety, horsemanship and performance. A horse is a horse of course, of course: Our horses are kept outside 24/7 with the exception of inclement weather or injury. They're kept in small groups to minimize potential for injury and allow for socialization and play time. All borders are expected to feed two feedings a week unless the horse is a retiree, or being boarded from out of state. This allows everyone to be comfortable with the heard and to allow you the time to be your horses favorite person at least twice a week. All of our horses are given free choice hay and water and are up to date with vaccines, deworming, and farrier care. Henderson Equestrian Complex is located in beautiful Western Pennyslvania, about 40 miles north of Pittsbugh. Henderson Equestrian Complex has been in business for over 30 years, founded by the late Brent Henderson in 1975. It is now owned and operated by Brent's daughter, Celina Henderson, and managed by Cortney Shipley, who carries a degree in Equine Management and Training from the University of Salem International. Henderson Equestrian Complex offers boarding, training, lessons, and various other activities throughout the year including horse shows, horse camp, and trail rides. Our facility includes a 60' and 120' indoor lighted arena, over 35 10' x 10' stalls, 2 outdoor riding rings, a covered roundpen, large turnout pastures, heated office and lounge area, 3 tack rooms, and a wash rack with hot and cold running water - all available to our clients to use at any time. Training is offered by Cortney Shipley, who carries a degree in Equine Management and Training from the University of Salem International -- along with 20 years of riding experience. She has successfully competed at the National level. We offer training in Hunt Seat, Western, and Saddle Seat. The majority of Henderson training horses are Arabians and Half-Arabians. However, all breeds are welcome. Henderson Equestrian Complex trainers are patient and work with their horses at the level appropriate for each individual equine.
