Bear Paw Barn is an adult lower level dressage training barn. Our no-pressure training environment allows riders and horses to progress at their own pace and comfort level. Our dressage training focuses on a foundation of groundwork and safe handling.
We are also the home of Sumner Brook Farm Inc. a small non-profit horse rescue. We rehabilitate, retrain and re-home horses in need.

The barn features a well lit 60x 90' Indoor arena with geo-textile footing and 4 large doors for cool breezes in summer. Our 80x 130' lighted outdoor has sand/rubber footing, hay fields to hack around, trails nearby, quiet atmosphere. By using our online arena calendar you can reserve your arena time and have your own private indoor!

Each new rider will learn to handle, groom, tack up, and properly cool out and put away their own horse, along with equipment care and maintenance. Our goal is to make sure every rider can one day be fully independent.

In addition, our programs are set up to ensure success of the more intermediate and advanced riders. Our instructors focus heavily on goal setting. We allow each rider to set and think about their goals. We do not value show goals over other goals! We also do not require any of our students to show.
