Debbie Smith began horseback riding as an adult, and has been riding for over 17 years. She has enjoyed both dressage (to Second Level) and hunter/jumper (at local SAHJA shows as well as “A” shows) and has also spent time trail riding. Debbie offers lessons for beginning riders to show competitors and for all ages. We want our riders to be happy and confident on their horses, so we concentrate on teaching a balanced seat until the rider chooses his or her favorite discipline. Our program is devoted to creating safe, well-rounded riders with a solid foundation in English riding, trail riding, jumping, and dressage. Good horsemanship is a must, and lessons are customized to each student's interests and abilities. Students are welcome and encouraged to engage in fun horsey activities together, such as group trail rides, clinics, and horse shows. We have a lesson program suited for everyone! Private, semi private, and group lessons available. Children will enjoy learning the basics and playing games while they improve their skills. Children must be at least 8 years old to participate in our group lesson program. Adults can learn to ride or get a refresher in our beginning and advanced programs. All lessons include grooming and saddling the horses and safety instruction. Individuals can focus on trail riding, English or Western, equitation and more. Kelly Williams provides specialized training and coaching for the endurance and competitive trail riding athlete. We believe that in order to have a successful endurance horse with a long, competitive career you must first have a well-balanced and responsive horse. An endurance horse does not just “go down the trail." All of our horses are cross trained with dressage basics and cavaletti/ground pole exercises to develop balance and willingness. Conditioning is done on a variety of terrain including sand, rocks, hills, dirt roads and single track trails. Horses in training are exposed to bicycles, hikers, ATVs, water crossings and road riding. All horses are taught correct trot outs and standing quietly for veterinarian examinations.
We also understand that an endurance horse is nothing without excellent nutrition and farrier care. At Knicker Knob Stable we pride ourselves on having fit, healthy horses that look like they could step foot into the show ring at any time. California barrel racing to starting Gymkhana horses, Alyssa Moreland has a the ability to work with riders that have limited experience and problem horses.

Alyssa has grown up on the West Coast, working ranch horses and started showing western pleasure and English
horses and competing at local play days. She then went on to compete in barrel racing's at rodeos. Progressing to
barrel racing competitions at junior rodeos, queen competition events. Currently she competes at the 4D barrel
events, is training barrel futurity horses and re-schooling problem horses and working with youth qualifying horses.
Alyssa Moreland, has is well respected in the California State Horsemans Association, CSHA.

She has worked hard to learn to train and start horses from scratch and is now working with and training horse
competitors including children to help their dreams come true. Alyssa has many horse championships under her
belt including winning CSHA division 1 and division 2 and in the top 5 at CSHA California State Finals, and in the
top 3 at the California State Fair and Winning the 2007 Keep The Dream Alieve event . She has worked for top
reining horse trainers in California including Ted Butler of Ted Butler Performance Horses.

As a horse trainer Alyssa is always teaching the principles necessary not only to win, but also keeping riders
performing at their best. Alyssa has helped some of the CSHA Region 3 youth competitors to become champions.
She works with many breeds of horses and ponies including AQHA American Quarter Horses, APHA American
Paint Horses, Throughbreds, Appendix Horse, Pony Club of America horses and Wild Mustangs.
