We are a english Saddleseat lesson program that specializes in working with riders of all ages and levels utilizing American Saddlebred Horses as well as other breeds. We use a variety of teaching techniques geared to helping riders meet their goals for themselves. Yoga, centered riding, visualization and good old fashioned horsemanship provide the foundation for our riding program. All riders learn safe horse handling and horse care as a part of their lesson. We offer saddle seat riding & driving lessons with American Saddlebreds & Hackney Ponies. We are a full service horse training, sales, and riding lesson barn. Our goal is to develop a passion for horses in each student. Our lesson program is tailored to prepare riders to be successful in horse show environments as well as overall horsemanship & equitation skills. Canopy Oak Trails offers horseback riding
instruction for all levels of riders, from beginner to advanced, western or English. We are fortunate to have several excellent riding instructors, who love teaching beginners & kids. They also teach refresher lessons for those that haven’t ridden in many years.
They can nurture those that may have had bad experiences & wish to regain their confidence in a secure, safe environment. Lessons are available for advanced riders in jumping, dressage & eventing.

We have a 50’ wooden round pen, an arena with great footing & jumps, dressage letters, barrels for barrel racing & an agility course. There are also excellent trails -- lot's of them to enjoy, for those that have the skills to be safe on the trails.

We have many Western & English bridles/saddles of various sizes available for your use, as well as helmets, crops, saddlebags, etc.

Group lessons (usually 2 or 3 students) are $55, for one hour. Private lessons are $55 for a half hour lesson and $90 for a full hour lesson. Once proficient with grooming & tacking, students can arrive half an hour early to groom/tack/warm up before the lesson (and cool down untack, after the lesson is over).

Hello! I’m Desiree. I’m a professional equestrian of over 35 years; a USDF and USCTA Bronze Medalist; a Certified Professional Life Coach & Performance Mastery Specialist; a mother, military spouse, and woman of faith.

EQUESTRIAN COACHING

As an Equestrian & Performance Mindset Coach, I believe there is more to working with horses and riders than winning ribbons. I believe strongly in creating a deep and trusting relationship between you and your equine partner from the ground up. This means a complete education to become a mindful horseman, not just a horse owner/rider.

As a mindful horseman:
• You’ll learn about basic horse care, tack fitting/care, and trailer safety.
• You’ll learn about rider safety from the ground up with a focus on your balance, coordination, and strength.
• You’ll learn how to understand your horse’s energy and way of communicating.

• weekly group coaching calls
• journals and workbooks

This is an affordable life coaching option that provides a safe space where you can get coached, work on your goals, and receive support and encouragement from your coach and others in the program.
