I have over 40 years of experience around horses and have 30+ years teaching riders and training horses.

We have a large heated and well lighted 80x200 indoor arena that is comfortable for year round riding. This arena includes an observation deck with couches and chairs so the spectators can relax and watch the riders or use the WIFI to work on his or her computer. Forced air heat in the indoor arena to keep warm for the winter and 40 ceiling fans keep you and your horse cool and comfortable in the summer.

Spacious 100x300 outdoor arena that is secluded among large beautiful old oak trees and with an observation deck so the spectators are comfortable for watching the riders as well.

1.5 mile sand trail and riding fields over 80 acres are fun to ride on and learn how to ride on uneven terrain and out in the open. We can go for a slow ride to relax on or go faster around the farm. The lesson horses and ponies are excellent all over the farm.

Cross country jumps scattered all around the farm for multiple difficulty levels.

Two 9x12 grooming stalls and two 9x12 wash stalls with hot and cold water to use year round.

TVs available to watch while you are grooming a horse, in the kitchen or relaxing in the lounge.

In-floor heat in the concrete throughout the barn.

Golden Ridge Stables has taught Minnesota to ride since 1986. Our established lesson program offers quality hunt seat and western lessons for youth and ladies of all ages and abilities on well mannered school horses. Our students discover how to work with each horse on the ground as well as on its back. Riding is a life skill that teaches self discipline, communication, and teamwork. Summer camp gives horse lovers lots of time with their horse and a daily structured riding lesson. With a limited number of participants, each rider gets individualized attention and a good basic riding foundation. Our fun activities include games, Paint-A-Pony, and creative crafts. Currently, I am offering lessons for those just getting into horses or those with experience. I strive to give new riders confidence and a strong foundation for them to build on however they chose. My program is unlike any other program in the twin cities area. I have been perfecting and developing it for a many years now. This program is more than showing up, jumping on a horse and riding around in circles for 45 min.First of all, it's about having FUN!! It's also about learning everything you need to know to be a confident, self sufficient rider. We start by learning how our horse communicates with us and how to truly understand it's cues. We bulid a strong, balanced seat by perfecting our bareback riding skills. We move on to different types of saddles and challenge ourselves each and everytime we come to the barn. I take pride in working with horses with behavioral issues as a trainer. Most of my more advanced students help me in this process and learn about the mind set of these horses with agression issues. Buckers, biters, kickers, halter pullers, horses who try to roll on you, or anything else they can do to scare the mess out of you to get them to put you away. It's incrediably rewarding to see these horses calm down and remember what is like to be a happy horse again. Kids in my program learn about leadership skills, communication, problem solving, teamwork, basic life skills that will help them when they are older. They help me teach camps, community ed, they help new students, young or old learn new things about horses. It's really rewarding to watch how well these kids develop so quickly and some just explode out of their shells.***
