Offering beginner to advanced riding lessons in hunters, jumpers, hunt seat equitation and western. I offer a beautiful safe facility to encourage learning. All ages are welcome!

“Safety first” is the foundation of my lesson philosophy. Once we have safety skills in place, we can be free to let the fun begin! My teaching style is very laid back and relaxed because I thoroughly enjoy teaching you to ride. I want to project that to my students so you get your best ride possible in every lesson. Are you ready to work? Every lesson will be an energy-filled hour. We go at your pace, but constantly keep things fresh with lots of different exercises and equestrian theory. You will get more out of riding if you know why you are sitting that trot, keeping your heels down, eyes up, toes in. Each lesson should teach you something new as well as practicing what you already know.

I don’t push showing, but if you want to compete I can get you ready for the ring. I have students who show WCSA, CSDEA and MN Hunter. I also have students that never enter a show ring, and that’s okay too. What matters most is that you enjoy lesson times- whether you will be throwing a leg over the saddle for the first time, have gotten away from riding and want to start up again, or are looking to build on the skills you already have and take riding to the next level.

Golden Ridge Stables has taught Minnesota to ride since 1986. Our established lesson program offers quality hunt seat and western lessons for youth and ladies of all ages and abilities on well mannered school horses. Our students discover how to work with each horse on the ground as well as on its back. Riding is a life skill that teaches self discipline, communication, and teamwork. Our goal is to develop confident life long horsemen.

Summer camp gives horse lovers lots of time with their horse and a daily structured riding lesson. With a limited number of participants, each rider gets individualized attention and a good basic riding foundation. Our fun activities include games, Paint-A-Pony, and creative crafts. Each rider goes home with a treasured keepsake and lasting memories!

Looking for a horse to love? Our unique leasing program is available to current clients and gives students a chance to spend more time in the saddle. Riders get excellent instruction in addition to time to practice their skills. Hanging out at the barn is great!

Spring Break camp and Community Ed classes are just around the corner! Adult and Child classes available! Mention Newhorse.com and get a special introductory rate to lessons and kids camp! My program is unlike any other program in the twin cities area. I have been perfecting and developing it for a many years now. This program is more than showing up, jumping on a horse and riding around in circles for 45 min.First of all, it's about having FUN!! It's also about learning everything you need to know to be a confident, self sufficient rider. We start by learning how our horse communicates with us and how to truly understand it's cues. We bulid a strong, balanced seat by perfecting our bareback riding skills. We move on to different types of saddles and challenge ourselves each and everytime we come to the barn. We ride through rugged terrain, arenas with no walls, but don't worry we take our time and start out slow. ***

I take pride in working with horses with behavioral issues as a trainer. Most of my more advanced students help me in this process and learn about the mind set of these horses with agression issues. Buckers, biters, kickers, halter pullers, horses who try to roll on you, or anything else they can do to scare the mess out of you to get them to put you away. It's incrediably rewarding to see these horses calm down and remember what is like to be a happy horse again. My students love being a part of it and look forward to the next "Crazy" horse I bring in.Right now our project is Scooter. ***

Kids in my program learn about leadership skills, communication, problem solving, teamwork, basic life skills that will help them when they are older. They help me teach camps, community ed, they help new students, young or old learn new things about horses. It's really rewarding to watch how well these kids develop so quickly and some just explode out of their shells.***
