Cornerstone Ranch offers balanced seat instruction for all ages and levels. The riding style we follow closest is Classical Stock Seat. Classes are held year ‘round, taking place either in the spacious outdoor, or indoor riding arenas. We also offer apprenticing under the Massachusetts Riding Instructor Apprenticeship Program, a great opportunity for those interested in a career in riding instruction, providing hands-on experience and mentorship.

At Cornerstone Ranch, we offer a range of activities that are not just educational, but also incredibly fun. Coach Jeni Platt grew up on horseback on her family farm in Central Virginia where she participated in many equestrian activities. Jeni holds a BA in Psychology and a QMHP certificate in Virginia. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor and B4C Social Emotional Learning Facilitator. At SCS, she is the Operations Manager, Lead Horsemanship Coach, and Equine Specialist.

In our lesson program, students learn about horse behavior, care, grooming, and basic riding skills! We teach "horsemanship style" with an emphasis on safety and self awareness covering various topics, including horse caretaking, handling, and knowledge. There is riding of course but it is not our sole focus. We are always happy to work with any experience level and have fun!

SCS is inspiring the next generation of thinkers and doers through hands-on adventures! All activities are designed to foster critical thinking, socioemotional development, confidence, and teamwork. Classes are taught by a team of instructors with skills including groundwork, riding English and Western, games, confidence building, and more.

Youth ages 5 and up may join us for ninety-minute horsemanship lesson blocks that include both ground and riding instruction. We teach safety, groundwork, equine care and knowledge, equipment maintenance, and horseback riding. All classes are taught with an SEL focused approach and foster personal development. Limited adult lessons may be available, please feel free to reach out and ask!

SCS Equestrian Team tryouts are open to anyone attending horsemanship classes weekly. Travel Team members must attend class a minimum of 2x weekly and are eligible to participate in off-farm events such as trail rides, hunter paces, and horse shows. My business is close to Msla and boasts a beautiful 80x120 indoor arena, a large colorful jump field, reliable lesson horses/ponies and lessons tailored to your riding level/personal goals. If you have your own horse and trailer you can haul to my place or I can meet you at our lovely local equestrian park, The Big Sky Horse Park.
I teach both English and Western to riders of all ages and all levels. My strengths are in the jumping arena. I really enjoy teaching young horses and riders to jump! I also have lots of experience with the basics and am always happy to pass on my knowledge!
If you have a horse you are uncomfortable trial riding I would be excited to help educate you both and build your confidence! I take clients in my lesson program trail riding in small groups(total of 4 riders including myself) so we can trot on the trails! We go for an hour and a half and students are welcome to be much more involved than just riding on the trail. They can help with catching the horses, loading the tack and the horses, grooming, tacking up and unsaddling and of course giving treats!
Horse Kids Camps make for a memorable summer experience so if you have a kiddo from the ages of 7-16 who is interested in learning to ride and care for horses contact me for more camp information!

Gateway Farm is primarily a Dressage and Eventing barn although we welcome all riding disciplines at our facility. Debbie also has acquired numerous Equitation, Hunter and Jumper Championships and wins at such prestigious shows such as Devon, Ox Ridge, Fairfield, The Hampton Classic and Syracuse. In addition, as a junior rider, Debbie was selected to compete in the Dressage Junior Olympics. Debbie has also worked abroad in Frankfurt and Ankum Germany to train Jumper and Dressage European Warmbloods for selection to be imported to the USA. Debbie has also managed several large well known show barns (with up to 80 horses) in Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.
. Debbie also has several years experience helping veterinarians in New Jersey and Pennsylvania including those associcated with University of Pennsylvania's New Bolten Center. Debbie has judged Local horse shows in Florida and with the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association. Debbie has a Bachelor's degree in both English/Communication and Political Science.

Debbie has a great passion and love for all animals and loves to teach children and adults to ride to their fullest potential with their horses and ponies. Not only does she teach them to ride well, but desires to educate them to understand, feel and think for themselves to become truly effective riders and to develop a winner mentality…that in turn can positively influence and correctly train their horses. Debbie believes that good horsemanship, positive attitudes, and correct riding leads to happier horses and ponies and satisfied riders and in turn results are a win-win situation for all.
