Lessons taught at TFF offer safe and structured lessons for children and adults of all riding levels and abilities.
Our instructor Taylor Halsey and well-schooled lesson horses/ponies will help you meet your riding goals, whether you have been riding for years or are just starting out. Mounted lessons emphasize riding safety and the development of a balanced seat in dressage and jumping. Unmounted horsemanship lessons that accompany the mounted lessons teach proper horse handling, grooming, care, and stable management skills.
Horse show experiences are a great way to have fun and build friendships. There is no pressure at Thistle Field Farm for students to show. However, for the student that is ready and wants to show there are many opportunities available.
Taylor is 24 years old and has been riding non stop since the age of 3. She is a B level pony clubber working toward her A. She has brought multiple horses up through the levels in many disciplines. Including: Eventing (USEA), Dressage(USDF), Show Jumping(USHJA)(USEF) and Pony Club. She has also shown on the AQHA and APHA circuits in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Huntseat, Trail, Horsemanship, English Pleasure, Halter and Barrel Racing. She was also active in 4-H and is Still active in Pony Club. She has been giving lessons for beginners to advanced riders since the age of 12. She has Started multiple horses and has trained over 50+ green horses. We are a small welsh pony breeding operation located in Wetumpka al. We are a private farm and sadly rarely if ever offer boarding opportunities.

We do however have a herd of amazing welsh ponies and do occasionally offer riding lessons (only a few students at a time). We specialize in hunter jumper ponies and beginners. We also offer our ponies to short term show leases when they are not with foals (typically august-feb). Our farm is small quiet and just the right sort of haven for young timid students looking to get a solid foundation without being one of many students.
