We are a small welsh pony breeding operation located in Wetumpka al. We are a private farm and sadly rarely if ever offer boarding opportunities.

We do however have a herd of amazing welsh ponies and do occasionally offer riding lessons (only a few students at a time). We specialize in hunter jumper ponies and beginners. We also offer our ponies to short term show leases when they are not with foals (typically august-feb). Our farm is small quiet and just the right sort of haven for young timid students looking to get a solid foundation without being one of many students.

We are a small facility that focuses on beginner riders, as well as those who desire to show in the hunters and jumpers. We are active on the Alabama Hunter Jumper Association circuit, and have horses available for show opportunities and half leases.

I love to teach about horsemanship and Safety. Whether you are new to horse ownership and or riding.
Have been competing since 15 years of age. Realized that we were not putting the horse first in training and showing. Chose a new path. Was given an opportunity at a QH breeder when I got back from Army. Starting youngstock and utilizing my own methods of starting horses using my own methods. I had less bucking and fighting of starting horses that I started a program in Texas lease to train, which is when a horse comes in that needs to be started from beginning i give one of my clients to work under me and lease the horse for same price as monthly lessons. Then the client has a choice after to either take up the horse their own or help sell the horse.
Utilizing equine psychology and human psychology to assist in training and help those who are in need of help getting back in the saddle utilizing methods that were taught to me.
Most that come here are looking for more of a relaxed atmosphere while still learning and training as such most of the lessons are 1.5 to 2 hours long. As there is time for Q&A, discussion topics. Riding lessons are now being offered at Shiloh Farms located in Auburn/Camp Hill area. Our lesson program focuses on the multiple aspects of horsemanship and developing a solid foundation of basic equitation. We pride ourselves on providing a fun experience while learning not simply how to ride, but also how to care for horses and equipment. Lessons are offered to riders of ages 5< in levels from beginners through intermediate in hunter/jumpers.

My name is Ansley Edmondson & I'm 17 years old. Don't let my age fool you, I know my stuff. I have been rodeoing all my life and love it. I can Team rope, heading or Healing, but I Absolutely love teaching Timed events like Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Arena, & Stake race. I can also teach breakaway roping, goat tying, and queen contest. I Love what i do and im not in it to make money, im in it to teach safety and proper ridding.

The Chambers County Saddle Club will be hosting a barrel racing and horsemanship clinic at the Lafayette Arena. We will open registrartion at 8:30 AM cst & start at 9:00 Am cst. The cost ot the clinic will be $25 per perticipant and is open to anyone with a horse regardless of ridding level, age, or horse's experience. From the beginning riders to experienced competitors, Thistle Field Farm is always looking for dedicated students to add to our program. Our program attracts both first time riders and those that are experienced.
Lessons taught at TFF offer safe and structured lessons for children and adults of all riding levels and abilities.
Our instructor Taylor Halsey and well-schooled lesson horses/ponies will help you meet your riding goals, whether you have been riding for years or are just starting out. Mounted lessons emphasize riding safety and the development of a balanced seat in dressage and jumping. Unmounted horsemanship lessons that accompany the mounted lessons teach proper horse handling, grooming, care, and stable management skills.
Horse show experiences are a great way to have fun and build friendships. There is no pressure at Thistle Field Farm for students to show. However, for the student that is ready and wants to show there are many opportunities available.
Taylor is 24 years old and has been riding non stop since the age of 3. She is a B level pony clubber working toward her A. She has brought multiple horses up through the levels in many disciplines. Including: Eventing (USEA), Dressage(USDF), Show Jumping(USHJA)(USEF) and Pony Club. She has also shown on the AQHA and APHA circuits in Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Huntseat, Trail, Horsemanship, English Pleasure, Halter and Barrel Racing. She was also active in 4-H and is Still active in Pony Club. She has been giving lessons for beginners to advanced riders since the age of 12. She has Started multiple horses and has trained over 50+ green horses. Taylor uses a sympathetic approach to encourage riders to become ‘Students of the Sport” help riders understand the what, why and how of what they are doing.
