Aloha! At Sea Horse Training, L.L.C., we are fully insured, licensed, and hold current A.R.I.A. Hunt Seat and Recreational Riding Professional Instructor Certificates. One of only a few certified instructors in the whole state. Our head instructor, Jessica Avila-Franco is a USEF Hunter/Jumper foundation focused Instructor that was born and raised in Washington, DC. She has competed and trained up and down the East Coast, and IHSA while in college. Jessica has over a decade+ of just professional teaching experience, and over 2+ decades of showing, coaching, and training experience on the local, "A" rated, and National levels.
Our focus is on safety first, but we always encourage having fun! We currently offer only Private English Hunt Seat horse back riding lessons, that way our students receive our full expert attention. Emphasis on Equitation and confidence building from day one, we also have a show team and offer on site show coaching.
Several well schooled horses and ponies available for lessons. Schooling helmets and equipment are included. Riders are asked to buy paddock boots and wear long pants. No open toe shoes please! We are also planning on hosting several clinics with Top Trainers and Clinicians and hosting several horse shows, both English and Western throughout the year, so friend us on Facebook! Ride the Rainbow on Kauai with Esprit De Corps Riding Academy. We offer true eco-tours. Small group and private horseback trail rides with trotting and cantering in a lush forest reserve near Kapaa. Beginner trail rides too. All trail rides start with a mini lesson in the arena to insure safety and fun, and then we ride into the mountains to see the interior of the island. Riding boots and helmets are provided. English and Western lessons in the arena for ages 6 and up can include introduction to Healing Touch for Animals, games on horseback, dressage and jumping, or personal growth through horse interaction. E Komo Mai Sport Horses is a small specialty equestrian ranch and home to Interactive Horsemanship™, which promotes a whole horse/whole rider approach to equine sciences. Our goal is understanding the nature of the horse, and the horse's role and needs in today's world. We strive to help our participants to become true horsemen, to create a fruitful and safe relationship with their equine companions in whatever equine venue they choose to pursue. We incorporate round pen work and equine behavior and psychology and proprioception principles into our natural horsemanship horse and rider sessions.

E Komo Mai Sport Horses is located in the Pacific in the town of Hawi/Kapa'au within the district of North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawai'i in the USA where a tropical setting of lush vegetation surrounding the house and yard is combined with 30 acres of rolling ranch pastures. The facility includes half an acre under roof with a large arena, a round pen, and a tack room. Outdoors are paddocks and pastures with natural cross-country obstacles, and a stall for use for mares with foals or lay-ups.

E Komo Mai Sport Horses offers boarding, covered arena, training, lessons, clinics, internships, international student exchanges, breeding services. Emphasis on equine behavior and psychology, all-around horsemanship, proprioception, dressage, eventing, jumping, and barefoot trimming. Nancy Steinecke has been instructing and training for more than 30 years. Nancy holds a degree from the University of Texas at Arlington (where she was a member of the Rodeo Team and competed in barrel racing) with graduate studies from the University of Hawai'i, and Nancy taught at Middle School, High School, and University levels before turning to a full-time profession in Equine Sciences. Nancy currently holds United States Equestrian Federation Licenses as a Dressage Judge and as a Dressage Technical Delegate since 1981. From 1981 through 2008 Nancy also held USEF Licenses as a Judge and as a Technical Delegate in Eventing, and throughout the 1980s Nancy held USEF Licenses as a Judge and as a Steward in Hunter and Hunter Seat Equitation.

Nancy and her students have competed successfully in a variety of venues, including Dressage through Prix St. Georges, Eventing through Advanced, Hunter, Jumper, and Western, garnering many awards and championships throughout the years. Nancy and Trey Pierce, her husband and co-director of E Komo Mai Sport Horses, have also played Low Goal Polo, winning the Mauna Kea Polo Club Low Goal Tournament in 1988, and, though no longer playing competitive polo, E Komo Mai horses and riders still enjoy the occasional stick and ball session. Today the main focus of the ranch remains centered on Interactive Horsemanship™ which emphasizes natural horsemanship and horse stewardship.

Lessons and training are available both with E Komo Mai Sport Horses school horses and with owners' own horses. E Komo Mai Sport Horses also provides custom clinics and seminars in equine behavior and natural horsemanship both at the Center and abroad.
