Our riding lessons are a family-oriented program with lesson times available after school for students and during the day for adults and home schoolers. We can even do weekends for family group lessons.

We offer English and Western lessons in our arena and wooded trails. Our program covers all aspects of horsemanship in addition to riding. Safety, horse care, and equipment care are only a few. Add in self confidence, sportsmanship, team work …. But most important- FUN!

Lessons are $45 for 1 hour saddle time when you pay monthly. $50 as a per lesson price. Students will come early to get their horses ready and stay late to put their horses away.

We also will be having occasional weekend get-togethers for the students to give them additional hands-on time with the horses.... See More

I am a Certified Horsemanship Instructor (CHA) LEVEL II English & Western and Trail Guide. Experienced working with beginners age 9 years and up, as well as more advanced riders.... Emphasis on safety and correct foundation in horsemanship skills. Excellent facilities (60' x 90'indoor and large outdoor arena and 70' diameter round pen) with well trained school horses. Full care boarding offered (with preference shown) to student horses with full use of all riding rings, round pen, tack room, h/c water indoor washrack, h/c lounge with restroom large 12 x 14 stalls that are picked daily and cleaned weekly. Full care includes: stall cleaning, shavings, holding for vet or farrier at NO extra charge, turnout (as weather permits)in safe individual turnouts, large roomy stalls, 2 feedings per day and hay at least 4 times per day (more if required)....Since we're on the premises...the horses are constantly checked throughout the day and we do a "bed-check" and final haying at night before bed. Someone is always on site for the best possible care of your horse!!! I'm happy to give lessons on my horse or yours! Will also take horses that need to be "polished" and taught to have better balance and way of going...learning to be more flexible and bend through their bodies better....for whatever riding style you prefer....dressage "basics" are great for improving any horse!

I've had my certification with CHA for going on 16 years now. It's a great organization that puts safety first! I feel a good instructor must have the knowledge required to understand everyone is different and be able to help each individual student achieve success by conducting safe, well planned and informative lessons that are also FUN!!! Judith Vandermeer, owner/trainer, holds a masters deg in both human and animal psych. Since starting as a trainer and coach in 1968, she has produced over 750 show champions in both breed and open competitions. She is a 12x ApHC World Championship qualifier, and has placed in the top half of of the competition every time. 3x listed in Who's Who...she has also earned two presidential citations for her work with challenged riders, as well as a citation from the Dept of the Interior. Ms. Vandermeer has developed cutting edge techniques that reduce training time, while keeping classes fun. Her school horses are all ROM winning, national and world championship competitors as well as all around regional show champions, who have received additional training in schooling riders. The Head Instructor is Denise Campbell, our ARIA Certified Riding Instructor. We have a fully equipped riding, training, & boarding facility. It is 2 miles past the Pottsville High School. Denise specializes in English & Equitation. I teach most disciplines from Halter to Hunters. I do not teach cattle work or SideSaddle. Pine Ridge Acres is building a Cross Country Course with beginner novice jumps to 3ft jumps. Horse training is available for specific disciplines. Once enough people sign up we will begin a drill team! Dressage and Eventing are taught up to Training level and 3rd Level in these areas only. We have amazing trails on-site and off-site. Denise teaches Western Pleasure, Western Riding, Western Dressage, Gaited Dressage, Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers, In-Hand Classes for English & Western.

Starting Fall 2012 we will be having a second Instructor teaching the Beginners in English and Western disciplines, and all Speed Event rider's.

Christy Zweig Niehues operates Always August Farm in Fayetteville, AR. With two decades of eventing experience, she has competed through the USEA Preliminary Level (3'7") and has her Eventing Bronze Medal at the Training Level. She is currently in the process of obtaining her ICP - Novice level certification.

Christy has experience managing large professional equestrian operations, and has worked at large boarding farms in MA and SC. In 2009, she was the horseback riding director for the Girl Scouts of the Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys and was responsible for the care and feed of 23 camp horses and overall management of a lesson and trail riding program.

Christy enjoys working with all breeds of horses, but especially off-the-track-thoroughbreds. Always August Farm has lesson horses available and trailer-in students are always welcome.
