Learn to ride or advance your skills in a relaxed, supportive, positive environment. Skill specific and general lessons are provided with an experienced school horse and all tack in either Western or English discipline. TRUE HORSEMANSHIP begins with a solid FOUNDATION. Riders will learn how to catch their own horse and how to safely control the horse from the ground. General anatomy of the horse, as well as parts of the halter, bridle and saddle will be taught. Grooming & tacking the horse correctly, how to mount & dismount, proper seat position and use of natural aids (voice, balance, legs, hands & seat) are all a part of each lesson. Entry level riders begin the program bareback and only when comfortable at all three gaits do they "GRADUATE" to the saddle. Lessons are fun and informative. My business focus has shifted from riding instructor to equine bodyworker and movement/alignment coach. The focus is on helping the rider/owner find the maximum connection and harmony with their horse by applying hands-on techniques of the 'Masterson Method Integrated Bodywork for Performance' (1st certified practitioner in NM) to bring the horse into balance and then coaching the rider/owner on way to maintain or fortify this healthier state for the horse. This can include designing a specific ground work and under saddle program, along with evaluating the individual riders connection and alignment in the saddle. We provide full service board at a low price. Board includes hay twice daily, regular turnout, daily stall cleaning and the attention of full time caretakers. Ditch access is at the end of our street with access to Bosque a few miles away.
