COWBOY UP! / Riding Instructor in Pie Town, New Mexico

Learn to ride or advance your skills in a relaxed, supportive, positive environment. Skill specific and general lessons are provided with an experienced school horse and all tack in either Western or English discipline. TRUE HORSEMANSHIP begins with a solid FOUNDATION. Riders will learn how to catch their own horse and how to safely control the horse from the ground. General anatomy of the horse, as well as parts of the halter, bridle and saddle will be taught. Grooming & tacking the horse correctly, how to mount & dismount, proper seat position and use of natural aids (voice, balance, legs, hands & seat) are all a part of each lesson. Entry level riders begin the program bareback and only when comfortable at all three gaits do they "GRADUATE" to the saddle. Lessons are fun and informative. Special activities, such as picnic trail rides, arena riding and trailering are planned to make the learning process exciting while you learn about horses, riding, and most of all, how to be safe and comfortable around horses. Come and experience the world of horses, your life will be changed forever.
