Teaching from the beginning. Safety, how horses think and what are they feeling is SUPER important to me. I want to help my students create a calm responsive partner in their horse in what ever discipline they choose.
Keeping the horse's mind and body relaxed is a high priority for me… not to say I won’t add pressure… I will… I just want to present it in a way not to overwhelm and blow up either the horse or student.
Keeping all that in mind this is what I go over in the beginner lessons:
Approaching horses, haltering , leading, grooming, minor vet care, health, nutrition, saddling, bridling, rein handling,
Leg cues, balance and equitation. I have access to arena and trails.
Students are started with a series of undetermined lessons on the ground first and foremost. As a student progresses in their understanding and response time they are moved into mounted education.

I also offer problem solving, trailer loading and obstacle clinics.
I have horses, if you don’t have your own. 150 lbs max weight of person to ride.

Ryan Oropeza became a professional after obtaining his degrees from UC Davis where he received a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Biotechnology with an emphasis in Animal Science. While obtaining his dual degrees, he worked as a barn supervisor and mentor instructor for the UC Davis Equestrian Center.

In 2007, he took on his newest role as coach to the UC Davis equestrian team while fully maintaining his cliental. Ryan has worked with many respected A-circuit professionals in Northern California. His riding background represents an eclectic mix from all avenues of the horse world, from Hunters, Equitation, Show Jumping to Eventing, and Dressage.

His programs are catered specifically to the horse and rider`s abilities. Debbie Smith began horseback riding as an adult, and has been riding for over 17 years. She has enjoyed both dressage (to Second Level) and hunter/jumper (at local SAHJA shows as well as “A” shows) and has also spent time trail riding. Debbie offers lessons for beginning riders to show competitors and for all ages. We want our riders to be happy and confident on their horses, so we concentrate on teaching a balanced seat until the rider chooses his or her favorite discipline. Our program is devoted to creating safe, well-rounded riders with a solid foundation in English riding, trail riding, jumping, and dressage. Good horsemanship is a must, and lessons are customized to each student's interests and abilities. We are a multi discipline barn dedicated to education and giving riders a safe opportunity to learn and improve skills. All ages are welcome and we work with all levels from beginners to riders who want to compete. We keep about 30 lesson horses so you can learn to ride on a horse that is appropriate for you. California barrel racing to starting Gymkhana horses, Alyssa Moreland has a the ability to work with riders that have limited experience and problem horses.

Alyssa has grown up on the West Coast, working ranch horses and started showing western pleasure and English
horses and competing at local play days. She then went on to compete in barrel racing's at rodeos. Progressing to
barrel racing competitions at junior rodeos, queen competition events. Currently she competes at the 4D barrel
events, is training barrel futurity horses and re-schooling problem horses and working with youth qualifying horses.
Alyssa Moreland, has is well respected in the California State Horsemans Association, CSHA.

She has worked hard to learn to train and start horses from scratch and is now working with and training horse
competitors including children to help their dreams come true. Alyssa has many horse championships under her
belt including winning CSHA division 1 and division 2 and in the top 5 at CSHA California State Finals, and in the
top 3 at the California State Fair and Winning the 2007 Keep The Dream Alieve event . She has worked for top
reining horse trainers in California including Ted Butler of Ted Butler Performance Horses.

As a horse trainer Alyssa is always teaching the principles necessary not only to win, but also keeping riders
performing at their best. Alyssa has helped some of the CSHA Region 3 youth competitors to become champions.
She works with many breeds of horses and ponies including AQHA American Quarter Horses, APHA American
Paint Horses, Throughbreds, Appendix Horse, Pony Club of America horses and Wild Mustangs.
Alyssa enjoys working with horses. This includes sensitizing and training horses for extreme trail rides and
competitions.
Alyssa has horses and riders training and taking lessons from West Sacramento, Davis, Woodland, Capay, and

Classical Dressage Training and Trick training based on natural methods.
Maxi Sulamith Moon is a former german FEI rider and has been producing and training several horses for artistic shows aswell for competitions. Over the last 10 years she has been the artistic creator for several horseshow events including the International Show jumping event opening in Brussels and several other shows across Europe and for the Theatre Equestre de Wattrelos.
The lessons are based on working on the connection between horse and rider and improve half pass, extended trot, flying changes, piaffe and passage.
