Lessons, training and coaching with Julie Blackburn. Julie teaches all riders "balance seat" which is an all purpose seat that encourages riding by balance rather than strength or force. Based on a modified dressage seat, balance seat encompasses riding on the flat as well as jumping and cross country riding.

Balance seat lessons can help you become a more effective rider by teaching you to control your breathing, vision, posture and mental imaging. This allows you to ride in a relaxed and balanced manner in any style saddle, using any rein handling technique.

Balance seat riders learn how to establish a harmonious physical interaction with their horse, rather than just achieving a prescribed show ring seat. Lessons include both mounted and unmounted exercises.

I have been involved in the equine industry for the past 18 years as a horse owner, rider, competitor, manager, coach, and trainer. With riding background encompassing hunters/jumpers, equitation, western/English pleasure, eventing, competitive trail, dressage and driving, I am a well-rounded and open-minded equestrian, always in search of more learning! In 2006, I completed a 6 month apprenticeship with master farrier Dicky Sevigny. Then in 2008, after a year apprenticeship under MA licensed instructor and farrier, Frank Longo, I received my instructors license. I have also worked with noted trainers such as Lainey Johnson, Susan Williams, Nona Bianchi, Gwenyth Santagate, Diane Marshall, and Melissa Tansey. I regularly host clinics at my barn with Sue, Nona, and Diane.

Full Circle Equestrian offers instruction from beginner through advanced in English/western Pleasure, hunters/jumpers, dressage, and gymkhana. All lessons are located in Blackstone, MA while my brand new state of the art facility in Uxbridge, MA is being built. Our new facility will offer lessons/training, boarding, leasing, birthday parties, therapeutic lessons and showing. In your lesson with me you will start with a private lesson so that I can analyze your individual needs. Together we will build a strong foundation of balanced coordination and learn the basics to successfully ride independently. I teach each student based on their individual goals, and go at the most comfortable pace for that person, nobody finds themselves overwhelmed either physically or emotionally. After your private lessons, you will have the option to continue in private lessons or move into semi-private or group lessons. Whether you ride recreationally or wish to show from 4-H to rated, I can help you reach your goals in a safe, fun and low stress atmosphere. We attend some 'A' rated shows throughout the year. This year we are doing the Cape Cod Hunter Series which is USEF "C" rated, NEHC, MHC, SEHA, & MHJ rated and will also attend some schooling shows for the beginner showers. I offer instruction on well schooled horses or can travel to help you with your horse. I believe in teaching complete horsemanship. Not just riding. All my lessons are dressage based because having a good solid dressage foundation will help you to excel in any discipline from gymkhana to show jumping. We are a small town family farm that provides lessons in a comfortable, non-competive setting. Our summer camp and trail rides are equally fun for young and old! We also offer many farm animals to pet and socialize with.

We provide riding lessons for begginers and up from the ages of 8-80. Also available to our students are trail rides,boarding and partial leases.
