We offer hour long beginner horseback trail rides on our scenic 90 acre property and hour and half long intermediate/advanced trail rides to those with previous riding experience looking for more of a challenge. For those younger riders (3-7yr olds) we offer lead line pony rides and are available to hire for events and parties off site. All our rides are private and lead by an experienced guide! Do you want to learn how to ride? Do you have a horse crazy child? I have a few openings available for new students ages 7 and up. I am a qualified riding instructor with over 40 years of experience in the industry. I will teach you or your child horsemanship in a fun, relaxed, safe atmosphere. We are an equine center for learning that is committed to the philosophy of non-coercive horsemanship dedicated to an unconventional dominance-free approach to the horse. We do not use bits, training aids or shoes with our equine partners. As a certified riding instructor with ARIA, my lesson program emphasizes horsemanship both on and off the horse with a focus on rider biomechanics on the horse. Erin M Goodney is the resident trainer of Franconia Farm in Remsen,New York.She also travels to offer her serivices. Erin has spent her entire life involved in the equine industry and has ridden under a variety of trainers to improve her riding ability. She has also spent time working under international riders and trainers. Erin has shown on the hunter and equitation curcuits from local showing to IHSA showing, A rated showing at HITS Saugerties, Lake Placid, and Syracuse. Erin has traveled to Wellington, Florida during the winter months to work in the big time show world. She has a Bachelors Degree in Animals Science with a Concentration of Equine from Suny Cobleskill. Erin gives English riding lessons to the competitive rider who wants to be involved in the show ring, or the rider who just wants to ride for the pleasure of it. She offers training that includes lessons,starting under saddle, schooling/conditioning and corrective behavior/riding vices. Erin also includes showing in her schedule and offers coaching throughout a show to her students or showing a client's horse. Erin strives to teach students to communicate with their horse in a way that allows the horse to move in their natural abilities. N-C Ranch is a privately run training facility specializing in Barrel Racing, training Futurity Barrel Horses, and training select youth riders for a national-level competition circuit.

We've been teaching lessons right here for over 30 years. Located just minutes from Rochester, Scottsville village, we offer Western riding with a focus on equitation (how you sit on a horse). We also specialize in beginner riders, but we also teach many more experienced riders as well. Lessons start at 9 yrs old but adults are also welcome to start riding too.
