I teach classical, balanced hunt seat equitation - beginners through advanced and all ages using my show quality lesson master horses and poinies. We fox hunt with Bedford County Hunt, compete at hunter pace competitions, and local shows where my horses and students win by using the techniques of total horsemanship I stress at all times. The horse's well being is always first.

I have my "r" in USEF Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation and have had it for many years - so I offer my services as a judge and clinician to educate my style of riding founded in the deep classical principals of correct forward seat riding.

Lessons/training available at your home in the Augusta County area or trailer to my home to use my 100x200 riding ring, the schooling jump trail that winds through hills and woods, or the many trails for riding in the George Washington National Forest.

I have 40 years experience teaching dressage, hunt seat, Western, Eventing/Cross Country/Foxhunting and trail skills. I also teach Orienteering by horseback.

Baily Dent Equestrian is an established program located in just outside of Charlottesville, Va. at Millington Stables. Our facility boasts 50 stalls, 2 out door rings, spacious grassy turnout, and 1000+ acres of trails through Farmington Hunt Country. Baily Dent is our head trainer. She grew up riding and showing in Charlottesville, Virginia and has spent a lifetime showing at some of the most prestigious horse show in the country. At Mahalo Farm in Earlysville, VA, we provide riding and carriage driving lessons for children and adults. Hunter-jumper, western, dressage and combined driving disciplines are offered as well as basic horsemanship skills for recreational riders who just want to trail ride or have fun. Our approach to riding is based on a strong foundation of natural horsemanship methods, Alexander Technique and Pilates, balanced seat, minimal aids, consideration of the horse and fun and safety for the rider. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as longer 1/2 day and full day lesson programs or trail rides during weekends, holidays and vacations. We also go to several local shows each year, attend several hunter paces and even go fox hunting several times a year.
For experienced riders, we offer partial leases of our well-trained and well-behaved horses. It's almost like owning a horse without all the extra expenses. It's a great way to enjoy horses, see the Virginia countryside from horseback and know that someone else is caring for the horses when you aren't around.
We also offer field boarding to a limited number of horses. All pastures have run-in sheds, fresh water and shade. Organic principles are followed throughout the farm including feeding organically/transitionally grown hay during the winter.
Need your horse or pony trained to drive or want a better shoulder-in on your horse, we can help you. We accept a very limited number of horses for training.

Little Pond Farm offers English/Hunter lessons to children and adults of all ages on our horses or yours. Beginners to advanced riders welcome. We offer a quiet and fun atmosphere where you can take a leisurely stroll through the neighboring fields and trails or practice for the shows in our large sand arena.
