Country Meadow Farm, LLC has a dynamic team of instructors that are now accepting new students, beginner through advanced. We welcome all ages of riders 6 years old and up. We offer most disciplines with an emphasis based on groundwork to provide an understanding of the language of the horse. This will in turn translate to a balanced seat and correct use of the aids to achieve the optimum relationship with the horse that you desire. We value the horse as a partner in our goal setting, whether that be winning a national title or maximizing your enjoyment of trail riding. You can enjoy taking lessons on one of our program horses, or you can trailer your own horse to the farm for a more personal experience. We also are thrilled to travel to you for lessons or a clinic.
Shelby is a Certified Instructor, through the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA), in both the Western and Hunter seat riding disciplines, as well as jumping. She has also achieved her Equine Facility Manager Certification through CHA. As the Virginia Representative for CHA, she would be thrilled to help others get their certifications in one of the many areas that CHA offers. Shelby is also an American Quarter Horse Association Professional Horseman, providing training, lessons and boarding at Country Meadow Farm, LLC. She is available for clinics throughout the year.
With a high level of standards, Shelby has hand selected a team of instructors to help her with beginner and intermediate lessons. Each individual has passed a skills test and has student taught under Shelby's supervision. In addition, each instructor has either achieved their instructor certification through CHA or is actively pursuing it.
Shelby is available for judging, as a certified and carded open horse show judge. Also, she is trained through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning to offer a highly successful experience for a wide variety of individuals. She works hand in hand with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the equine to create a healing triad.
Country Meadow Farm, LLC also offers boarding, training, clinics, equine retirement, and other specialized services for horses recovering from medical treatment or abusive trauma.
