I offer a safe modivating enviroment for kids and adults. I start with flat work and determine were my riders are at. I teach Hunter/Jumper after my client has proven themselves on the flat. I also offer a range of western disiplines. There are over 50 privatley owned horses and foals at our facilitiy. I'm currently obtaining my Equine Science degree, and incorporate this into my teaching. I'm a certified therapeutic riding instructor, with CPR and 1st aid training. Knowledgeable, patient and compassionate dressage trainer available for training and lessons on the eastside at your facility. I teach beginners through 2nd level with a focus on the correct basics. A great deal of the time we read "basics" and think elementary riding, but most difficulties that arise in training stem from insufficient education in the basics. The basics are the foundation on which we build and continue to revisit in training. I beleive that correct dressage training is beneficial for most horses and riders no matter their chosen goals. I have had great sucess with timind, fearful riders and misunderstood and abused horses.
I implement lesson plans to help achieve understanding of the aids, the movements, timing and feel. I strive to build a more supple, forward and through horse. I teach lunge lessons for position, balance and contact. I also teach in-hand, long line and cavaletti lessons. I strongly believe that theory and dialoque are very important in an equestrian education, but so is fun. My teaching/training focus is on building a harmonious partnership between horse and rider, not necassarily on competition dressage. I do not use training gadgets.
