Better than lessons - you and your kids will appreciate a trail ride over boring arena circles any day! Riders will learn basic handling skills in a far more beautiful environment. Try a guided horseback ride along trails that wind through our lush forests. Great for riders of all ages and skill levels (kids to adults; beginner to advanced). This is a small privately owned ranch. All trail rides are guided at a "walk only" by an experienced and knowledgeable trail guide who leads riders in small groups of 1-4 riders. We specialize in confidence building. We ride rain or shine; we use comfy waterproof lap blankets to keep our riders warm and dry in poor weather conditions. We have a huge variety of ride types, from one half hour to all day rides, we'll even plan an overnight camping trip. The NWNHC conducts lessons for students age eight and older who wish to learn how to build a respectful partnership with their horse and learn to ride with balance and lightness. In addition to a basic curriculum for children, we specialize in addressing the unique needs of the adult student who may be getting back into horses or fulfilling a life-long dream.

Using natural horsemanship and Centered Riding® techniques students build a positive relationship with the horse through leadership, not force and intimidation. Our instruction is a comprehensive program that starts on the ground and works its way into the saddle. It seeks to build a well-rounded horse person who not only understands the techniques, but the mind and spirit of the horse.
