Jack and Paula Curtis have a combined experience of 32 years; training horses and instructing their owners, in a variety of disciplines. Together they have competed nationally in Jumping, Dressage, and Western events. They teach clinics throughout the state, and as far away as Florida, give demonstrations at horse fairs, and instruct anyone interested in achieving a higher level of horsemanship.

Having studied with some of the finest trainers and clinicians the horse industry has to offer, Jack and Paula bring a wealth of knowledge to their teaching program. Their ability to articulate their thoughts and ideas has an enormous impact on the success of their students and horses.
~The Stable~
The stable of JPC offers indoor and outdoor full-service boarding with the amenities of a large facility and the individualized care of a small family stable. New large indoor arena, spacious clean rubber matted stalls, and miles of trails meandering through the 62 acre farm. Horses live in a quiet, relaxed and closely watched environment. Feeding and turnout programs are customized to each horse. Owners live on premise, and are involved with the day to day operations of the facility.
Located in Grafton, WI, minutes north of Milwaukee and just 1 1/2 miles off of I-43. It is 62 scenic acres of rolling fields, woods, creek, and pasture.

Learning Opportunities with Jack and Paula include:

Lessons on your own horses: Trailer your own horse in for a private lesson to brush up on your horsemanship skills, solve a problem, prepare for a show, learn a new skill etc... We can take you and your horse to the next level in whatever discipline you ride.

Lessons on our horses: We have a variety of lesson horses available; dressage, hunters, jumpers, reining, and barrel racing horses. Let us know what your goals and ambitions are and we can find the right match for you.

Semi-private clinics: These clinics are geared towards those of you who would like an in depth horsemanship experience. Spend the day with Jack and Paula as they give you hands on instruction. Watch them work with various horses and experiment with various techniques on your own horse or one of the lesson horses. This format covers a multitude of topics allowing more time and a broader topic range than a regular lesson. My name is Britt and I am a riding instructor that works in Madison and the surrounding communities. My specialties include hunt seat equitation, western horsemanship, and Showmanship. I also offer beginner lessons in english and western disciplines and also ground work. I showed on the AQHA circuit for several years and also on the Missouri State Equestrian Team. I currently coach a high school equestrian team and am looking to expand and give private lessons and training rides. I love working with children but also have experience working with adults. Anita Di Modica has a B.S. degree in Equine Science and has been giving lessons, training, showing horses, and judging for over 25 years. She has been, and will be again, a WSHC, WI 4-H, & POA certified judge.

She uses humane, nonviolent, and fair methods for training, (a mix of Natural Horsemanship and Classical Dressage). She has trained and given lessons to numerous winners in huntseat and western pleasure, equitation and horsemanship, dressage, jumping and barrels. She has also trained many nice trail horses and horses that "do it all". All the horses she works with have the manners to do well in showmanship.

I am a dressage, jumping, and beginner lesson instructor. I came over from Holland over 6 years ago. Back in Holland I graduated as Veterinarian Assistant/Technician. I was always into the horses and have a lot of experience with the youngsters, and trained with some great trainers over in Holland.
In the US I trained under Yvonne Berkhout for many years, then Wayne Boyers, Kim Iwen and Endel Ots of Kim and Yvonne Barteau's KYB Dressage. I am terrific with kids, but do offer intermediate lessons to 3rd level. I have participated in many shows around the country and have scored in the seventies at every level I have competed. At Phantom Ranch we teach ‘Rider Independence’. This means the student is taught all aspects of horse care, ground work and riding. Students are taught how to catch and groom their horse before the lesson, and how to untack and release their horse after the lesson. Students are challenged to experience different saddle disciplines as well as other styles - driving with our minis, vaulting on our draft horses and navigating our trail obstacle courses in-hand and mounted.

We offer trail rides, week long summer horse camps; Girl Scouts and other group education, horsemanship lessons and volunteer opportunities. We are a ETS host for clinics and competitions.
