Gypsy Farms offers both English and Western horseback riding lessons for children and adults starting at the age of 6. Lessons are offered at the beginner and intermediate levels in most areas of English and Western riding. At Gypsy Farms, we want students to focus on good, safe horsemanship while learning to understand equine behavior, including body language, as a means to better communicate with the horse. While safety is our primary concern, we encourage equestrians to learn how to care for, groom and tack their horse. Riders are not limited to a particular riding style or focus and can change disciplines to find what best suits them.

We offer horse training for starting young horses under saddle to polishing your mature horse for show. We accept "problem" horses. We have experience working with a wide array of breeds. Lunge work is utilized for horses to develop correct muscular structure and to alleviate resistance.

We offer quality, individualized, private riding instruction on your horse or one of ours. Lease horses sometimes available. Will travel to your place or you may haul your horse in for training and lessons. Lunge work is utilized for the student to achieve an independent seat, legs, and hands for improved coordination, effectiveness of aids, and safety.

We have horses available for sale in various price ranges, experience levels, and athletic capabilities.

All of our hunter jumper horses and riders are taught the fundamentals of dressage.

Ashley is a USDF Certified Instructor / Trainer specializing in Dressage training and lessons for all levels of Dressage, Eventing and flat work for Hunter / Jumpers. We offer horse boarding to clients at the scenic Sunset Stables. We are a full service riding stable offering riding lessons for beginners and up. We teach english and western. We also offer hourly trail rides.

We have two wonderful ponies and one horse that we use for lessons. Laura has experience teaching all levels of riders. We have several students competing successfully at the "A" shows and we also have students who have just started riding. Rio Vista Farm, located on the banks of the Colorado River, opened to the public in 1995. The facility quickly became the premier Hunter/Jumper stable of Austin, offering top quality care and professional training for both horse and rider.

Located 3 miles from Austin Airport, within 15 minutes from downtown Austin and the University of Texas, and about 25 minutes from Westlake Hills (with van transportation service available from convenient Westlake location.
Head Trainer Susan McMorris instructs those that own their own horses or are leasing. Boarders sign up for 2 specific group lesson days and times per week. This allows us to group together riders by ability and to limit lesson size. Susan began her professional career in 1984 after graduating from Meredith Manor School of Equestrian Studies. She has operated Hunter/Jumper training/lesson barns since 1985, creating many lesson programs and summer camp operations that have been copied throughout the city. She has taken many riders from summer camp level to year end high point winner in Hunters, Jumpers and Equitation. Rio Vista riders can be seen in the high point standings of local and Texas A shows on a yearly basis.

Assistant Trainers Haylee Morris and Amy Gangstad are available for those students that ride the lesson horses or to beginner rider boarders. Haylee has 15+ years of experience teaching riders of all levels provides her with the knowledge and patience to provide excellent instruction to both first time riders or those with more experience. Amy began her riding career with Susan and upon graduation from St. Edwards University began working as a professional trainer/rider.
Group Lessons: (45 minutes to 1 hour) Available on a monthly basis only. $190 monthly with a $100 deposit for once a week lessons. One month notice required to discontinue lessons. Deposit applied to final month after proper notice is given.

Private Lessons: (45 minutes) $65 for initial introductory private lesson. After initial private, lessons available on a monthly basis only. $330 monthly with a $150 deposit for once a week private lessons.
