Horsemanship and riding lessons are taught by a certified instructor. We teach ages 7 and up, & we love teaching adults! From the student who has never even touched a horse, to those with experience cantering and jumping we offer something for everyone. Loretta enjoys helping adults gain confidence and working through fear. We strive to focus on teaching good Horsemanship principles to everyone. This includes but is not limited to, learning how to read horses body language, learning how to use your own body language to influence the horse, understanding how herd behavior works and why it is so important to understand the differences of prey and predators. Over 20 yrs of experience. Forecast Farms offers riding lessons for all ages and all levels of riding. We offer private or small group lessons, either on your horse or on one of our lesson horses. Hello everyone! Wanted to introduce the new and upcoming English and Western training facility in the heart of Spotslyvania Virgina. We are a work in progress but have BIG goals and need your help to get there! We have now put in our arena! Working on getting a few jumps as well to start with. As of now we are offering the following:
-Ring Rental
-30/60/90 day horse training program
-Trailer your horse in for lessons
-Working students ( I have a few horses I want to use for lessons but they need some more experienced riders to work them. Lessons are free on these horses!)
-Pony rides/birthday parties

We offer quality instruction on our horse or yours, in both the hunter and jumper disciplines, and coaching from the local through the A levels of competition. We start young horses and give them a good foundation, and "de-programming" ex-racehorses is our specialty. Terri Young trains horses and teaches riders of all levels. She specializes in bridging the gap between the local Virginia show circuit and US Equestrian Federation-rated shows. Terri grew up competing in equitation and hunters in New Jersey before spending several years working for dressage trainers, including Lendon Gray. After graduating with a degree in business management from Syracuse University, she moved to Germany where she trained and showed jumpers before returning stateside to open her own stable. She is a USEF “r” judge and a member of the USHJA Youth Council. Terri has been accepted to the USHJA Trainer Certification Program and was the winner of "Win a Week with Frank Madden," sponsored by Bates Saddles and Practical Horseman Magazine.
