Baily Dent Equestrian is an established program located in just outside of Charlottesville, Va. at Millington Stables. Our facility boasts 50 stalls, 2 out door rings, spacious grassy turnout, and 1000+ acres of trails through Farmington Hunt Country. Baily Dent is our head trainer. She grew up riding and showing in Charlottesville, Virginia and has spent a lifetime showing at some of the most prestigious horse show in the country. Training and lessons offered at Aisling Farm in St. Stephens Church. One month of training ($675) includes 5 days a week of riding, stall, grain/hay, and turnout for your horse. Trainer April Trimmer has over 15yrs experience training, riding, showing, and caring for horses. She mainly focuses on Dressage, and she has her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals. She also has experience in other disciplines such as combined training, driving, showing in hand, and even exercising racehorses. Send your show horse for a month to get tuned up before show season this spring, or send your young horse to get started. All horses are worked with a Dressage foundation. All Breeds welcome, even mules and donkeys!

Riding Lessons are also offered on school horses. Trailer ins are welcome! Beginner lessons include learning how to safely groom, tack up, and cool out a horse. $35 for a 1hr private lesson. Christmas package offered. 3 lessons for $90

Riding lessons for children.

At Mahalo Farm in Earlysville, VA, we provide riding and carriage driving lessons for children and adults. Hunter-jumper, western, dressage and combined driving disciplines are offered as well as basic horsemanship skills for recreational riders who just want to trail ride or have fun. Our approach to riding is based on a strong foundation of natural horsemanship methods, Alexander Technique and Pilates, balanced seat, minimal aids, consideration of the horse and fun and safety for the rider. Private and semi-private lessons are offered as well as longer 1/2 day and full day lesson programs or trail rides during weekends, holidays and vacations. We also go to several local shows each year, attend several hunter paces and even go fox hunting several times a year.
For experienced riders, we offer partial leases of our well-trained and well-behaved horses. It's almost like owning a horse without all the extra expenses. It's a great way to enjoy horses, see the Virginia countryside from horseback and know that someone else is caring for the horses when you aren't around.
We also offer field boarding to a limited number of horses. All pastures have run-in sheds, fresh water and shade. Organic principles are followed throughout the farm including feeding organically/transitionally grown hay during the winter.
Need your horse or pony trained to drive or want a better shoulder-in on your horse, we can help you. We accept a very limited number of horses for training.
