Storybrooke Farms specializes in Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation and Dressage. Our objective is to provide children and amateur owners with competitive partners who are confident, safe, and athletic. Safety and horsemanship are top priorities. Storybrooke students not only to work toward mastering skills while mounted, but also to learn proper care and handling, as well as a basic understanding of equine psychology. We compete at all levels of shows from schooling to the ‘AA’ Circuit and instruct beginner through advanced riders. We are based out two of a beautiful facilities, one in Chapel Hill within 15 minutes of UNC and Duke, as well as in Wake Forest, 15 minutes north of downtown. Traveling Trainer services are offered on a limited basis within the Triangle. Trailer-In lessons are also welcome at either facility.

Lessons are taught by a certified American Riding Instructor, with over 26 years of experience competing, training, teach and showing all over the midwest and east coast. All level riders are welcome, beginners through advanced, ages 5 years old and up. Our program offers some of the safest, most competitive lesson horses and ponies in the area. Kylie Barrows has many years experience competing in dressage and eventing. Training and lessons are offered to horses and riders of all experience levels, with an emphasis on kind and correct training principles, safety, and fun. Jansal Saddlebreds is currently offering saddleseat riding lessons to the public. Lessons are $25 for 30 minutes of riding time for individual lessons, and $25 for group lessons that are 45 minutes of riding time. Stacey Carter has over 25 years of experience riding, training, and competing. She has extensive experience starting young horses, rehabilitating "problem" horses, and working with rescues. She is a PATH Certified Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning and Registered Yoga Instructor. The Heart Centered Horsemanship Method has been incorporated into therapeutic programs and is the basis for Healing Connections at Midnight's Promise Equine Rescue, a weekly group that supports mutual healing for horses and humans.
