WESTERN RIDING LESSONS

Lee Johnson is a beginning to Grand Prix level Hunter/Jumper trainer in Magnolia, Texas.

Beginning and intermediate lessons are available for all ages (no younger than 7) in English and Western. Safe horsemanship is a primary goal along with comfort and confidence on and around the horse. Our focus is clear communication with the horse for safe riding whether it be on the trail, just for fun or at a show. We also enjoy working towards your specific goals as a rider and student. Unlike the majority of instructors, I can travel to you and your horse to teach and train.

Horses are also students of riding as well as the riders, so I also provide training services. From breaking to maintenance riding and everything in between, it can be done.

We offer English & Western riding lessons & driving lessons for children & adults. Our program features four highly-trained & experienced instructors as well as 10 wonderful lesson horses. Each of our lesson mounts has been carefully selected for their kind dispositions & suitability to a varied level of riders. Private, semi-private & group lessons available.

Day camps are offered at various times throughout the year; birthday parties are available on weekends year-round, based on availability.

Our facility features a beautiful outdoor arena with a lovely sitting area, a 70 ft. round pen, a 50 ft. round pen used for beginner lessons, lovely bridle paths to enjoy time with your horse. The barn features include 32 12 x 12 stalls with automatic waterers, fly spray system, 2 tack rooms, an air-conditioned client lounge & 2 restrooms.

The VPF youth riders enjoy time together as members of the Vantage Point Youth Club, 4-time winners of National Awards for community service, fundraising & breed promotion.

The farm was established in 1982 by the owners, Mary and Jeff McCartney, and is set in 65 spacious acres of woodlands and pastures. The farm has three large riding arenas as well as a dressage arena, a cross-country jumping course, and on-site trails.

What started off with the rescue of a couple of horses, a couple years ago, then turned into a trail riding business called Just Us Gals . . . and our Horses, and has now evolved into Henry's Home Horse and Human Sanctuary. We incorporated into a 501c3 Non-Profit about a year and a half ago, and moved our location up to Conroe just a couple months ago. In 2005 I completed a semester with the National Outdoor Leadership School (which included a section of horsepacking 137 miles of Wyoming Wilderness) and left Texas to work in Yosemite National Park as a science teacher and sometimes Mounted National Park Service Ranger.
